About NordSpace

NordSpace (https://nordspace.com) is a Canadian startup with the mission to develop Canada's first sovereign space launch and end-to-end space missions capability. With divisions ranging from rocket propulsion and spaceports, to satellite development and planetary robotics, NordSpace is driven to do everything it takes to bring space closer to Earth. As an intern at NordSpace, you will have the opportunity to experience every aspect of a space mission - from spaceports and launch to satellites and more.

Your work will involve scoping, research, design, and prototyping of subsystems which may relate to anything from propulsion and avionics, to structures and operations. Your exact projects and tasks will depend on your specific interests, skills, and NordSpace's current work. This role requires someone with vision, leadership, and a relentless work ethic that goes far beyond the norm. It also requires someone who has a strong natural intuition of physics and mathematics, a knack for hands on prototyping, and a desire to move fast.

Qualifications
• Enrolled in a Canadian university degree program in engineering, physics or mathematics
• Executing a leadership role in a space engineering team (rockets, satellites, or robotics)
• 1+ year of applied engineering experience (internship, research, or personal/team project experience)
• Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
• Excellent English communication skills

This is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markham. NordSpace is accepting applicants for internship/co-op terms up to 12 months in length.
