About NordSpace
NordSpace (https://nordspace.com) is a Canadian company with the mission to advance life on Earth, from space. NordSpace is committed to extremely rapid innovation and development of only the most ambitious aerospace projects with only the most ambitious team Canada has to offer. NordSpace is driven to do everything it takes to bring space closer to Earth and inspire generations of space explorers. NordSpace is developing 3 classes of launch vehicles, named Taiga (sub-orbital), Boreal (light-orbital), and Tundra (orbital).
As an intern at NordSpace, you will be working towards developing Canada's first orbital class launch vehicle, to be launched from Canada as well. Your work will involve scoping, research, design, and prototyping of subsystems which may relate to anything from propulsion and avionics, to structures and operations. Your exact projects and tasks will depend on your specific interests, skills, and NordSpace's current work. This role requires someone with vision, leadership, and a relentless work ethic that goes far beyond the norm. It also requires someone who has a strong natural intuition of physics and mathematics, a knack for hands on prototyping, and a desire to move fast.
Qualifications
• Enrolled in a Canadian university degree program in engineering, physics or mathematics
• Executing a leadership role in a space engineering team (rockets, satellites, or robotics)
• 1+ year of applied engineering experience (internship, research, or personal/team project experience)
• Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
• Excellent English communication skills
This is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markham. NordSpace is accepting applicants for internship/co-op terms up to 8 months in length for Summer or Fall 2024.
