Program Coordinator (Temporary Replacement)

PERT is a nonprofit organization that seeks to address the employability issues faced by English-speaking Quebecers. Since our founding in 2020, we have developed a research, engagement, and development agenda in collaboration with stakeholders across Québec who are working to improve labour market outcomes for English speakers.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the delivery and coordination of PERT’s programs, in collaboration with its partners across the province. In particular, the successful candidate will assist in the development and execution of PERT’s mentorship and networking program, Circonflexe. The chosen candidate will also support PERT’s partners in the planning and coordination of networking mentorship events. Throughout, the Program Coordinator will draw upon technological support and platforms, such as CRMs, mentorship platforms, and automation to support related activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the following: 

Circonflexe Coordination:

  • Ensure the success of PERT’s mentorship program, Circonflexe.
  • Promote PERT’s mentorship and networking program.
  • Recruit, interview, train, and support mentors and mentees.
  • Coordinate and support the pairing of mentees and mentors.
  • Train partner organizations in the development of mentorship programs.
  • Ideate program systems and formats to promote scaling and/or franchising.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and organize a range of community engagement events, including workshops, seminars, conferences, and networking sessions.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual requirements, communications, and guest invitations.
  • Execute events on-site, ensuring smooth operations and a positive experience for attendees.
  • Prepare event project plans with detailed reports.

Promotion and Marketing:

  • Work with the Director of Organizational Development and Director of Public Affairs to plan and execute promotion and marketing efforts for Circonflexe activites, as well as other programs and events.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team in the promotion of PERT and its activities.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and advertisements.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • Diploma or degree in business administration, communications, marketing, community development, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.

Candidates with these additional qualifications will be strongly considered:

  • Previous experience developing and implementing networking events.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing a mentorship program.
  • Previous experience with stakeholder management & engagement.

Job Specifications 

This is a temporary position (schedule and hours to be determined) to provide coverage during a leave of absence, with the assignment ending at any time upon the end of the leave of absence.

  • Salary: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • 9 paid sick days (pro-rated at % of full-time hours worked)
    3 weeks paid vacation (pro-rated at % of full-time hours worked, in addition to office closure between Christmas & New Year’s)
