We’re growing the team and opening a Partnerships Development Contractor position to lead our partnership engagement and growth in adopting Applied Data Science. The position will need to engage partners on all stages across the client management spectrum, advocate for these new approaches to decision-makers, and support our data science & programme teams in understanding the real-world impact. www.palindromedata.org.za


The Responsibilities of the Partnerships Development Contractor entail:

The Partnerships Development Contractor is primarily responsible for engaging with, understanding and articulating our partner’s HIV programmes and goals, and developing these into priority project proposals that align the strategies of Palindrome and our stakeholders. This is performed in a few areas of responsibility:

  • Lead our partnerships development activities and sector engagement strategy
  • Lead the establishment of processes and best practices for the department
  • Proposal and value proposition development aligned with strategic objectives and opportunities
  • Key account management, for both immediate term and follow on commitments
  • Engaging and developing new partnerships for the medium term
  • Cultivation and development of long term and foundational core funding grants
  • Design, facilitate and communicate high level research and project strategy
  • Understand and map public health sector programme goals, challenges and the operational context
  • Coordinate activities with stakeholders across teams both internally and externally
  • Mentor and develop junior staff

  • Professional written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
  • Fluent in English (but 1st language not required), other languages a bonus
  • A passion for public health

Required Background:

  • A graduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant scientific field
  • Folks with background in Project Management, Business Analysis or Account management strongly encouraged
  • 3 years of any work experience and working in teams to cultivate and deliver funding opportunities and commitments
  • Demonstrable history of managing opportunities or proposal commitments end to end
  • Demonstrable data literacy. We’ll want to talk about a project/study you engaged in-depth using data. Battle scars welcome.
  • We strongly encourage folks with non-traditional backgrounds to apply
