OOSContractorToronto, ONHybrid$75,000 - $85,000 CAD per year
Job Posting: This posting reflects a current vacancy
Project Coordinator
3-Year Contract (Full-Time Position)
Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid)
Osteoporosis Canada (OC), a registered charity, is the only national organization serving people affected by osteoporosis. OC works to educate, empower, and support individuals and communities on bone health and in the risk-reduction and treatment of osteoporosis.
Background:
Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue. This can cause the skeleton to become fragile, so that even a slight bump or a fall from standing height or less, can lead to a broken bone (fragility fracture).
The Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy (OOS), an Ontario Ministry of Health funded initiative, was created to reduce morbidity, mortality, and costs from osteoporotic fractures, including hip fractures, using a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach that is integrated across health care sectors. This initiative brings together the expertise and resources of leading organizations including Osteoporosis Canada.
Job Summary:
OOS is seeking a highly organized Project Coordinator to manage the implementation of an Ontario Ministry of Health-funded innovative AI health technology project. The goal of this initiative is to leverage AI-powered health technologies to develop opportunistic screening methods in diagnostic imaging and to improve efficacy of existing primary care EMR systems to enable earlier intervention and appropriate preventative care.
The successful candidate will coordinate with, and support, cross-functional stakeholders across both opportunistic imaging-based screening and primary care EMR-integrated decision support systems, to ensure the successful deployment of solutions that improve patient outcomes without increasing clinician burden.
Reports to: Director, Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy, Osteoporosis Canada
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management and Coordination
- Support and liaise with stakeholders to ensure concurrent implementation of AI-driven opportunistic screening and EMR-integrated decision support tools
- Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across both initiatives
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Manage iterative development cycles for EMR feature enhancement based on user feedback
- Collaborate with primary care teams to integrate AI powered OP toolkit into routine workflows, ensuring the solution acts as a cost-effective early detection, fracture risk assessment and osteoporosis management tool.
2. Stakeholder Liaison and Engagement
- Serve as primary liaison between clinical teams (radiologists, primary care clinicians, allied healthcare), research/evaluation teams, IT departments, EMR vendor/developer, administrative leadership, and AI technology partners
- Engage operational stakeholders to ensure workflow integration minimizes disruption to existing imaging and primary care practices
- Build consensus and manage change across diverse stakeholder groups
- Coordinate with EMR vendor/developer and AI technology partners to support feature development and deployment timelines.
3. Implementation Support
- Assist in developing protocols for patient identification, risk assessment, follow-up and referral pathways within primary care
- Assist in developing patient and provider focused education materials and appropriate tools and resources to support implementation
- Coordinate deployment of AI-powered decision support features within EMR systems at select primary care organizations
- Coordinate training and education for radiologists, technologists, as well as clinical staff within primary care.
4. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track key performance indicators and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders
- Support evaluation of clinical effectiveness, operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and provider adoption
- Identify opportunities for program optimization and scaling.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Education: University degree in Health Informatics, Health Administration, Digital Health, or a related clinical field. PMP or CAPM certification is highly desirable.
- Ontario Healthcare Expertise: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience coordinating complex projects within the Ontario health system.
- EMR & Digital Tools: Proven experience with navigating primary care workflows within Primary Care EMR systems (e.g., Accuro, PS Suite, OSCAR) and a solid understanding of Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS).
- Project Coordination: Demonstrated expertise in coordinating multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional stakeholders across clinical and operational domains, supporting iterative development cycles and technical deployment timelines.
- Stakeholder Navigation: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of acting as a bridge between technical partners (AI vendors/IT) and clinical end-users (Primary Care Physicians, nurses and allied health professionals).
- Implementation Science: Experience in workflow analysis and the ability to facilitate integration of new technologies into existing clinical practices without increasing provider burden.
Preferred:
- AI/ML Literacy: Foundational understanding of AI/Machine Learning concepts, specifically how predictive analytics are applied in a clinical context.
- Change Management: Experience implementing Change Management methodologies (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) to support the adoption of new technology-driven processes.
- Evaluation & Analytics: Experience in tracking KPIs related to clinical effectiveness, provider adoption rates, and cost-benefit analysis within a healthcare setting.
