Position: Yard Shipper/Receiver

Reports to: Yard Supervisor

Classification: Full Time Seasonal

Role Objective:

To assist in preparing, organizing, loading, and unloading orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely dispatch while maintaining plant quality and following safety and handling protocols.

General Responsibilities:

• Assemble orders in an efficient and accurate manner, according to drop off order. 
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized department
• Facilitate unloading and inspecting of incoming plant material and products, and separating by department.
• Maintain dock and dock plates
• Clean out tractor trailers and cube vans when they return from deliveries.
• Assemble shipping racks
• Tie trees in preparation for shipping.
• Assist with tree potting (primarily spring)
• Assist with the end of year inventory pack up.
• Assist with poly installation and removal.
• Monitor and follow proper maintenance schedules for department machinery, vans, trailers, skids, etc. in collaboration with the shop department.
• Assist with plant maintenance, including cutting-open trees, pruning, weeding, spacing, etc.
• Dispose of dead and/or diseased plant material. Repotting or pruning damaged material as needed.
• Condense and water all delivery orders before the weekend.
• Assist with B&B maintenance (pruning, weeding, cutting open, disposing of dead, etc.)

Required Certifications:

• Valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Forklift Safety Training (Training will be provided if not currently certified)
