The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties in order to increase the Pharmacist's opportunity to provide optimal patient care. The Pharmacy Assistant is expected to participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations required of a team player. They are a key member in the delivery of superior customer service.

In the day-in-the-life of a full time Pharmacy Assistant, you will provide front line service to patients & customers by receiving prescriptions, performing computer functions such as data entry, patient profile checks, billing etc. as well as filling prescriptions by following strict procedures and Pharmacists supervision.  You will work with the pharmacy team to meet requests and deadlines to fulfill our long term care homes requirements.  You will also assist the Pharmacist with maintaining inventory of drugs and other supplies as well as maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications:  Attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, confidentiality, adaptability to change, problem solving capabilities, great collaboration and strong communication skills, positive attitude.

Education & Experience:  Comfortable with computer/technology and working with the public.  General knowledge of pharmacy operations, drug plans, procedures, processes and regulatory requirements.  Pharmacy Technician/Assistant certificate considered an asset.
