Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury Districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), Non-Urgent Patient Transportation, and Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Team
The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is comprised of 14 board members and has been in existence for 25 years. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. Our organization is responsible for the development and execution of annual budgets exceeding $50 million. The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly motivated professional to fill a Temporary full-time (12 months) Community Paramedic position.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Commander of Community Paramedicine, the Community Paramedic is responsible for functioning minimally as a Primary Care Paramedic with specific responsibilities for CP program and service delivery, as well as client and partner agency planning/implementation.
Qualifications and Specific Skills
· Current certification as a Primary Care Paramedic with Health Sciences North Centre for Prehospital Care including full PCP IV certification.
· Must meet all requirements under legislation to qualify as a Paramedic in the province of Ontario.
· Demonstrated understanding of Adult Learning Principles and ability to communicate and educate the public in the community with respect to diseases, treatment, prevention, etc., and services provided.
· Valid Ontario Class “F” or higher driver’s license in good standing which meets the requirements of the Ambulance Act of Ontario.
· Knowledge of applicable Standards, Acts, Regulations, Directives, Policies and Legislation pertinent to the job as a Paramedic.
· Computer literacy utilizing MS Office applications and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and Future Health Services EMR.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to foster a positive and cooperative working relationship with team members, allied services and other agencies and the public.
· Ability to work outside regular paramedic shift assignments/patterns including rotating shifts, evenings/nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
· Perform Primary Care Paramedic duties to maintain certification and remain in good standing with Health Sciences North Centre for Prehospital Care.
· Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $39.72/hr. - $44.97/hr.
