Housekeeping Career

Company Overview

Motivated Brands Inc. transforms service industries by eliminating high turnover, lack of dependability, inconsistent quality and low wages through its nano-business licensing model. Instead of being employees, technicians own independent nano-businesses operating under the brand through a licensing agreement.

This provides access to the brand, business systems, operational support and more, allowing them to work for themselves but not by themselves.

Position Overview

Motivated Housekeepers provides affordable housekeeping services to help keep homes tidy, organized, and running smoothly—without the high price tag. Customers can book a one-time service or set up weekly or bi-weekly bookings at a discount. Just a few of the services provided include:

  • Laundry—washing, folding, and putting away
  • Making beds and changing linens
  • Organizing closets, pantries, and other spaces
  • Tidying and decluttering
  • Meal prep assistance
  • Event setup and cleanup
  • + More

Providers do not provide house cleaning services like cleaning toilets, tubs, kitchens, or bathrooms.

Requirements & Expectations

Professional Housekeepers do more than complete tasks—they create a welcoming, judgment-free experience for Customers, showing empathy so Customers feel at ease. Attention to detail, a willingness to learn and strong organizational skills are essential. Every home should have a polished, thoughtful touch that shows care and effort.

Long-Term, Full-Time Commitment
This is not short-term gig work, freelancing or a side hustle secondary to a primary job. The role follows a structured schedule with recurring Customers, building stable income and long-term Customer relationships.

Contract Commitment
After a six-month trial period, there is an option to contractually commit to a two-year period, with an additional option to renew for another 2.5 years after that.

Availability
Schedules are self-set but require at least 35 hours per week. As Customers book recurring weekly or bi-weekly services on the same day and time each week, your weekly schedule remains fixed and does not change from week to week.

Discovery Call
After accepting an offer, a face-to-face virtual meeting with a Success Coach is required before onboarding. This is not an interview but a chance to meet, ask questions and confirm expectations.

Transportation
A reliable way to get to and from bookings is essential, with drop-off and pick-up by friends or family not suitable. A personal vehicle is required in most areas, though public transit may be an option in some cities if it allows for on-time arrival and departure. Rideshare services like Uber may also be used.

Criminal Records Check
A clean criminal records check is required through our designated provider, with a link supplied. The cost is covered by the provider and is only needed after accepting an offer, submitted during onboarding.

Insurance

Commercial general liability insurance is required to protect you, Customers and the company. It is easily obtained online through a link provided during onboarding. The cost is approximately $50 per month, billed monthly, with the first two months payable upfront. Coverage can be canceled anytime without penalty.

Estimated Earnings

Earnings are based on hourly rates, a per-booking fuel surcharge, and optional tips. Payments are processed online and disbursed after deductions.

Deductions include a 20 percent licensing fee (excluding tips and fuel surcharges), credit card processing fees, and any applicable costs.

Rates vary by location and are set when expanding. Current St. John’s, NL rates:

  • One-time: $29.99/hour
  • Bi-weekly: $26.99/hour
  • Weekly: $25.49/hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $4.99 per booking

As self-employed business owners, Providers are responsible for remitting income taxes, HST and both employer and employee portions of CPP. Our training includes guidance on managing these obligations which are simple and easy to do.

Start Up Costs

Becoming a Provider requires a small initial investment of about $300 to cover essential items such as a branded uniform and business cards, which are fundamental marketing tools. As well, insurance is approximately $50/month but they require two months up front.
