What are we looking for: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records for our company. The ideal candidate will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, tax compliance, and provide reports that help management make informed financial decisions. This role is essential to ensuring the financial health and smooth operation of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record-Keeping

  • Record all financial transactions including sales, purchases, payments, and receipts accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and file GST/PST returns and ensure compliance with tax obligations.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare periodic financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow summaries.
  • Provide insights into revenue patterns, costs and financial performance.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting to support management decisions.

Vendor & Inventory Support

  • Track and process vendor invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to monitor inventory costs and expenses.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits.
  • Ensure all financial practices meet provincial and federal regulatory standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Diploma or Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in hospitality, retail, or small business settings
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping fundamentals, and tax filing.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Capable and confident using the Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of focus
  • Ability to work independently with a track record of completing tasks accurately and on time
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Must be able to work on-site at our Vancouver office
