About us
The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada’s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,400 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.
Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining, fitness and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.
Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resources Assistant to support our Human Resources Department. You will play a vital role in supporting day-to-day Human Resources functions, which include screening resumes, deploying new hire onboarding documents, maintaining employee records, preparing monthly reports, facilitating training and development, ensuring health and safety, and managing development and special projects as assigned. This position requires strong organizational skills, a detail-oriented individual, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Post vacancies on job posting boards, including colleges and universities sites
- Assist with screening and inputting resumes into ATS
- Liaise with various Universities, Colleges and utilize alternative recruiting methods
- Prepare recruitment packages for interviews.
- Conduct background and reference checks for selected candidates
- Assist the HR department with onboarding new employees, including entering employee information and sending welcome emails.
- Maintain accurate digital and electronic records of employees
- Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
- Ensure all required onboarding and training documents are saved into the Drive
- Follow up with employees for missing paperwork/ trainings.
- Transcribe, post and distribute monthly Health and Safety inspection report and action items to staff
- Attend quarterly Joint Health and Safety meetings: take minutes and circulate to the team
- Update the Health and Safety board and ensure that: monthly inspections, action items, ministry documents and new policies are posted and up to date
· Coordinate and plan employee social events, contests and fun activities to boost employee morale.
- Perform all administrative tasks including creating communication, filing, mailing etc. and other related tasks assigned.
Skills & Requirements
· Currently enrolled in the final year undergraduate HR Co-op program at a university or completed a university degree and pursuing a post-graduate HR Co-op certificate program at a college.
· Strong interest in human resources and the hospitality industry
· Have basic knowledge of Employment Standards
· Collaborate with team members and share information with other departments
· Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment
· Strong commitment to professional and responsive service with the ability to deal effectively and professionally with difficult individuals
· Communicates effectively, ensuring all details and related logistics are communicated to the appropriate individuals / departments
· Proactively identify problems and innovates solutions to challenging situations
· Superior organizational skills to manage tight timelines and conflicting priorities
· Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
· Advanced computer proficiency – Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point), email / internet and membership database programs (Jonas)
· Able to maintain confidentiality / privacy of information
· Self – motivated with the ability to take initiative and be resourceful
· Strong verbal communication skills – written and verbal
