The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada’s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,400 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.
Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining, fitness and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.
Position Summary
The Assistant Facility Manager supports the Facility Manager in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Club’s facility. This includes assisting with routine maintenance tasks, coordinating small projects, and ensuring that the facility remains safe, clean, and operational. The Assistant Facility Manager is primarily responsible for hands-on tasks and supporting larger projects under the direction of the Facility Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Facility Manager with day-to-day operational tasks and ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, cleaning, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Respond to minor facility service requests from staff and members promptly and escalate more complex issues to the Facility Manager.
- Conduct daily inspections of the facility, reporting any issues or concerns to the Facility Manager.
- Assist in monitoring building systems such as HVAC, lighting, and security systems, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Support the Facility Manager in scheduling and coordinating minor maintenance and repair projects.
- Help with event setup and breakdown as needed, ensuring that logistics and AV are properly handled.
- Liaise with external contractors when required, under the supervision of the Facility Manager, ensuring that work is completed to standard.
- Assist in maintaining inventory for maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, ensuring the use of proper safety gear (Personal Protective Equipment) and reporting any hazards.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in facility management.
- Perform other hands-on tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.
Skills & Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a maintenance or facility-related role, ideally in a Golf Club or hospitality setting.
- 2 years of experience in a facility supervisory role
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or trade school certification is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work as part of a team and support more senior staff.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Attention to detail in daily maintenance and facility inspections.
- Ability to manage basic tasks and escalate complex issues when needed.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs independently.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and crouching.
- Physical ability to handle routine maintenance tasks.

**NOTE: MG&CC is not on a bus route. You must have reliable transportation.
Compensation: $63,000 to 66,000 annually
