The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada’s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,400 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.

Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year-round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, fitness, dining, and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.


Position Summary

The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking a Full-time F&B Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic and fun team. The F&B Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the purchasing and receiving of MG&CC food and beverage items, as well as some materials, as needed. Responsibilities include purchase requisitioning, inventory control, receiving and storage functions, as well as ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all products.

Key Responsibilities

o Adhere to MG&CC procurement and F&B purchase policies, procedures, and systems to support the business, from product identification; purchase requisitioning; receiving; storage and inventory control.

o Ensure timely, cost-effective product acquisition and related delivery schedules.

o Collaborate with key internal team members (kitchen, catering coordinator, clubhouse manager, locker room attendant, etc.) to determine food and beverage requirements for day-to-day operations, special Club events and member events, including related delivery locations and timelines.

o Negotiate with suppliers / vendors to secure the best possible price and service guarantee.

o Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate, unreliable, too costly, etc.

o Receive all food and beverage items upon delivery, ensuring all items are accounted for and are of high quality. Reconcile any undelivered / poor quality items against payment.

o Maintain accurate inventory and record of all food and beverage items.

o Authorize all supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and entering into computer system for tracking purposes.

o Identify opportunities to continuously improve purchasing processes at MG&CC.

o Perform other duties as requested by the Clubhouse Manager.


Requirements

o 3+ years of related experience in a Golf Club/hospitality environment

o College diploma in a Business Administration, Production or Inventory Management related program an asset

o Certification with Purchasing Management Association, Association of Production and Inventory Control or equivalent is an asset

o Basic wine knowledge is an asset

o Teamwork and cooperation

o Focused on delivering high levels of service to customers (internal and external)

o Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal team and customers

o Ability to negotiate with professionalism, tact and diplomacy

o Excellent communication skills – verbal, written & presentation

o Represent MG&CC by projecting a positive and professional image at all times

o Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures

o Complete knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures

o Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements

o Proficient with Word, Excel, email and internet

Compensation: $21-$25/h
