The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada’s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,400 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.

Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year-round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining, fitness and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.


Position Summary

The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking an experience Facility Manager. As a key member of the senior management team, this position is responsible for the Club’s overall maintenance operations, including all internal and external facilities, systems and equipment. Accountable for maintaining a clean, desirable and safe Club environment.


Key Responsibilities

· Monitor day-to-day operations and overall facilities to ensure efficiency

· Perform basic facility maintenance and housekeeping repairs of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, building equipment, carpentry and special projects

· Oversee operation of building’s emergency systems – fire, security etc.

· Manage and coordinate multiple technical/maintenance projects of varying complexity to achieve goals related to scope, quality, time and budget

· Build and maintain positive relations with all departments and respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance/housekeeping service requests

· Engage the services of external contractors to perform work, including sourcing, overseeing work, creating purchase orders, negotiating contract terms and managing the relationship

· Participate as a Certified member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee and actively promote a safe work environment

· Manage cleaning team, including the recruitment, training, motivation & coaching, reward & recognition, scheduling, discipline and termination of all staff

· Collaborate with Clubhouse Manager and/or C.O.O to coordinate major building efficiencies, repairs and purchases

· Prepare and manage facilities management budget, forecasting and capital project expenditures

· Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, building code and health and safety issues

· Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all systems, including detailed record keeping and costs

· Purchase required inventory, parts and supplies in a cost effective manner

· Coordinate event / function set up and tear downs, including logistics and resources

· Performs all work in a safe and cautious manner – must wear Personal Protective Equipment and use all machine safety guards at all times

· Performs other duties as directed by senior management


Requirements

· 5+ years related experience – preferably in a Golf Course environment

· College or trade school diploma/certificate

· People management experience

· Certification in HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing preferred

· Experience designing, implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program

· Project management experience (managing scope, time, cost, quality, contracts, materials and risks)

· Strong work ethic and integrity

· High level of service commitment

· Knowledge of electricity, plumbing, HVAC and its components as it is related to older buildings

· Business savvy with solid understanding of financials – budgeting, capital expenditures, purchase orders

· Demonstrated ability to build sound business relationships

· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

· Effective communication skills – listening, understanding and responding

· Sound judgment and decision making abilities

· Ability to diagnose / troubleshoot and perform appropriate maintenance work

· Skilled in the use of a variety of repair equipment and tools

· Solid negotiation and impact / influence skills

· Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills

· Proactive with demonstrated initiative to take charge and work independently

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Must possess a valid driver’s license

· Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and building codes

· Computer proficiency

· Projects a positive and professional image
