The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada’s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,400 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.
Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining, fitness and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.
The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking a full-time seasonal Assistant Teaching Professional/Professional Staff to join our Golf department. In this dual role this individual will be responsible for providing the highest levels of service to all Members and Guests of MG&CC. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 shifts weekly in the golf shop and at least 3 other days dedicated to teaching/coaching. The Assistant Teaching Pro/Pro Staff will be a key contributor to the Mississaugua Golf Academy as well as an integral leader of the golf operations team.
Not limited to the below, Professional duties responsibilities will include the following:
o Provide professional, responsive, and consistently high levels of service to our Members and their guests
o Promote and sell products in the Pro Shop while demonstrating a keen knowledge of product features and benefits
o Assist with the daily operations of the Golf Operations Team, including tee time management, starting and course pace of play initiatives
o Serve as an active and engaged team member and perform other duties as assigned.
Not limited to the below, teaching responsibilities will include the following:
o Organize and maintain the Club’s fitting equipment, including demo clubs and shafts
o Teach both private lessons and group classes, with specific focus on junior development
o Assist the Director of Instruction with Academy related activities as required
o Supervise upkeep of the golf range/practice facility to ensure that safe, clean, organized and professional conditions exist throughout the day. Work with golf operations staff to confirm that all visitors are either members or permitted guests
o Promote the lesson program, group classes & actively deliver a high standard of instruction to all categories under your responsibility
o Work within the stated guidelines of the Club to exceed the needs and expectations for all Members and guests
o Post-secondary degree or working towards PGM college diploma
o PGA of Canada member in good standing
o A minimum of 5 years teaching/coaching golf
o TCCP Instructor Beginner and Instructor Intermediate certified
o Other teaching/coaching certifications an asset
o Club fitting and club repair skills including regripping and club bending
o Knowledge of Jonas POS, GGGolf Tee Sheet and Golf Genius TMS an asset
o Merchandise & Retail experience an asset
o Demonstrated service orientation with a commitment to exceeding expectations
o Highly motivated with a desire to go above and beyond on a daily basis
o Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
o Commitment to teamwork and cooperation
o Effectively follow established Club guidelines and policies
o Contribute to a positive work environment and demonstrate a positive attitude
o Work in an efficient manner while managing multiple tasks and priorities
o Exceptional planning skills with ability to create and follow through on educational programs
o Strong attention to detail
o Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
