We’re looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Test Engineer II  to lead testing activities for electrochromic devices. This role combines hands-on testing, method development, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will design and execute experiments, develop new testing methodologies, and ensure high-quality, reliable test results while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repeatable testing and inspection tasks with a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Develop and implement new testing methodologies to improve testing efficiency and data quality
  • Lead independent technical decision-making to resolve issues and drive process improvements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and test-related issues 
  • Analyze test data and clearly communicate results, insights, and recommendations to cross-functional teams
  • Participate in technical discussions and meetings to understand requirements and recommend appropriate testing strategies and stakeholder requirements
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and quality teams to support R&D development and product validation
  • Train, mentor, and support co-op students and junior technicians in routine testing and lab activities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment aligned with low-risk operating practices


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or other related degree or equivalent experience 


Competencies:

  • Experience with electrochemical systems, batteries, or electrochromic devices
  • Proficient in developing and validating electrochemical test methods and procedures
  • Strong understanding of experimental design (DOE) and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high sample volumes while maintaining accuracy
  • Proficient in data infrastructure, extracting and organising data and helping to architect and improve underlying systems
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and manage project timelines effectively

  • This position requires full-time, in-office presence at our Olympic Village locations.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed

Compensation:

The posted range for this position is $84,500 - $100,000 representing the expected starting base salary for candidates from developing proficiency in the role through to fully proficient. In addition to base salary, you will be eligible for our bonus program, stock options, 4+ paid weeks off/year and extended health benefits after 3 months of service.
