The Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation (MCCC), Manitoba’s second Crown Corporation, plays a vital role in supporting arts and culture across Winnipeg and the province. MCCC achieves this by providing facilities and facility management for several prominent venues, including the Manitoba Museum and Planetarium & Science Gallery, the Centennial Concert Hall, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, the Tom Hendry (Warehouse) Theatre, Artspace, the Manitoba Production Centre, and four parking facilities.

MCCC directly manages both the Centennial Concert Hall, home to its resident companies the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Opera, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the Manitoba Production Centre, a purpose-built studio supporting Manitoba’s growing film and television industry. The Centennial Concert Hall also hosts a wide variety of events, including performances by local talent, international artists, dance companies, and touring Broadway productions.


POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, House Services, the Host Attendant plays a vital role in providing front-line customer service to patrons during performances at the Centennial Concert Hall. This position ensures patrons have a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable entertainment experience by assisting with seating, concessions, and general inquiries.


What You’ll Do

Customer Assistance and Venue Support

· Assist patrons in finding their seats, including accommodating late seating requests.

· Provide accurate information about the venue and answer common patron inquiries.

· Distribute programs and insert additional materials as required.

· Check admission tickets and coats, ensuring efficient and friendly service.

· Direct patrons to the appropriate locations within the venue.

Concession Support

· Assist concession staff with the sale of food and beverages during intermissions.

· Handle cash transactions and operate concession equipment.

· Ensure timely and courteous service to enhance the patron experience.

Emergency Response and Safety

· Contact the Supervisor, Manager of House Services, or paramedics in the event of a medical emergency.

· Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when addressing stressful or urgent situations.

Other Duties

· Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall operation of the Front of House.


SOFTWARE AND SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT

· Hardware: Ticket scanners, service equipment, Point of Sale (POS) system.

Qualifications

· Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.

· Previous customer service experience, with strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.

· High energy level and an outgoing personality, suitable for engaging with patrons.

· Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

· Shift work, including evenings and weekends, required.

· Dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with staff, clients, and patrons.
