About your Role

As a member of the Underwriting Team, the Fulfillment Officer reviews, approves, and escalates mortgage documentation received from our broker partners. The objective of the Fulfillment Officer is to review and process mortgage documentation to ensure they meet Magenta’s mortgage asset quality standards, while at the same time optimizing new advances volume.

We’re looking for a Fulfillment Officer with experience working in fast-growing, entrepreneurial environments. The position requires the ability to make consistent and objective risk assessments as part of a high-volume, deadline-driven team.


What you’ll work on:

· Working with brokers to collect all required broker conditions to ensure accuracy and completeness of applications.

· Reviewing all documentation related to broker conditions; responsible for validating and verifying application data as well as ensuring that it matches committed terms and follows established regulatory and company guidelines and policies.

· Updating application details in the mortgage underwriting system when updated information received.

· Escalating any documentation issues, including fraud, to the Underwriter, Team Lead, Manager or Director for review and sign off.

· Escalating any exceptions to Underwriter, Team Lead, Manager or Director for review and sign off.

· Creating and maintaining clear and complete notes within the mortgage underwriting system.

· Responding to all inquiries within established turnaround times.

· Ensuring compliance with privacy, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and anti-fraud policies.

· Coordinating with team members to release mortgage funds on a timely basis.

· Collaborating with the sales and Underwriting team throughout the process.

· Ensuring that the fulfillment pipeline is current and up to date.

· Providing exceptional customer service on consistent and ongoing basis.

· Collaborating with team and department in supporting the continuous improvement and development of process, workflows and procedures.

· Assisting senior management with ad-hoc requests, special projects and new initiatives as required.


What you should have:

· Experience in mortgage documentation review; ideally alternative mortgages.

· Strong aptitude for service excellence.

· Ability to maintain positive relationships.

· Ability to deal with difficult people.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills while maintaining attention to detail.

· Ability to manage pressure in an environment of high-volume processing with tight turnaround times.

· Detail oriented.

· A common-sense approach to decision making.

· Solution oriented.

· The ability to determine when to take the right risks.

· You are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills given the need to optimally manage key relationships with our internal team and mortgage broker partners.

· Experience applying corporate guidelines and policies to your everyday work.

· Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

· Ability to build rapport and communicate appropriately with clients and peers.

· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

· University/College Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
