About your Role

As a member of the Mortgage Administration Team, the Funding Specialist reviews legal documentation to ensure accuracy within the established guidelines, allowing mortgage loans to be funded on scheduled closing dates. The ideal candidate for this role is enthusiastic and has remarkable attention to detail and is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role is constantly evolving and we're always looking for great people! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn more about the mortgage industry.



What you’ll work on:

- Prepare and send solicitor instruction packages.

- Review legal mortgage documentation to ensure alignment with committed terms, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

- Escalate documentation issues or exceptions for review and approval.

- Build and maintain positive relationships with solicitors.

- Liaise with solicitors to collect all required closing documentation.

- Coordinate with team members to ensure timely release of mortgage funds.

- Create and maintain clear, complete, and accurate notes within the mortgage underwriting system.

- Prepare and send post-closing documents to the accounting team.

- Send Welcome Letters to borrowers once funding is complete.

- Assist with audits as required.

- Ensure the funding pipeline remains current and up to date.

- Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times.

- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.

- Collaborate with the team and department to support continuous improvement of processes, workflows, and procedures.

- Assist with mortgage administration duties.

- Support management with ad-hoc requests, special projects, and new initiatives.


What you should have:

- Experience in the Financial Services sector, Mortgage Industry, or Legal field is preferred.

- Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.

- Commitment to delivering exceptional service.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong conflict resolution skills.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail.

- Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

- Practical and thoughtful decision-making approach.

- Willingness to take risks, embrace mistakes, and learn from them.

- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
