The Lycée international de Calgary, a bilingual French-English school of approximately 450 students, is seeking an Alberta-certified teacher to join our Elementary School for a maternity leave replacement.

JOB DUTIES
Lycée international de Calgary is seeking a dedicated and dynamic teacher to join our team. Supervision & Collaboration:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction aligned with both Alberta Education and Ministry of French Education standards. They will report to the Upper School Director and collaborate directly with the Director of the English Program, who plays a key role in ensuring curriculum compliance and contributes significantly to the evaluation process, to maintain consistency with curricular expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in ELA and Social Studies aligned with Alberta Education and Ministry of French Education standards
- Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, providing accommodations as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment supporting student growth, curiosity, and well-being
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and student learning initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and eligibility for or possession of Alberta teaching certification
- Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and best teaching practices
- Prepared to teach in a bilingual and globally focused environment
- Familiarity with French or openness to other languages and cultures is an asset
- Commitment to professional excellence, collaboration, and fostering a love of learning
Salary & Benefits:
Compensation is based on years of experience and qualifications, in accordance with the school’s approved teacher salary grid.
Other requirements:
- Up-to-date First Aid & CPR certificates;
- Up-to-date police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Valid Work Permit holder without restrictions.
