Team: Technology and Development
Schedule: Full-time
Our Mission
Lumenix develops hardware, software, sensor systems, and artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare and other industries across North America. Our mission is to improve safety, operational efficiency, and quality of life through innovative, practical applications of technology.
Our Artificially Intelligent Monitoring System (AIMS) applies privacy-preserving ambient AI to healthcare environments, providing actionable intelligence that helps clinical teams improve patient safety and care. Lumenix is expanding its technology platform and pursuing opportunities in both domestic and international markets.
Our Culture
Lumenix values technical excellence, collaboration, initiative, and practical problem-solving. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together diverse skills and perspectives to address complex challenges. We encourage independent thinking, professional growth, and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful results for our clients.
Our History
Founded in 2012, Lumenix initially developed a national platform combining lighting, software, and sensor technologies for clean technology and property technology applications. Following the acquisition of AIMS technology in 2020, the company expanded its focus to include ambient AI solutions for clinical environments.
AIMS uses a network of ceiling-mounted devices and infrared-based 3D sensors to anonymously perceive human movement and positioning without collecting personally identifiable information. The platform delivers real-time intelligence designed to help healthcare teams prevent adverse events, improve health outcomes, and support clinical staff.
You
You are an experienced, technically capable professional who enjoys communicating complex technology to diverse audiences. You can engage confidently with clinical leaders, hospital executives, IT professionals, and engineers, translating technical capabilities into practical clinical and operational value.
You combine strong presentation and interpersonal skills with hands-on technical competence. You are comfortable preparing and executing complex demonstrations, investigating technical questions, and recognizing the limitations of a system. You understand that maintaining credibility requires both enthusiasm for the technology and honesty about its capabilities.
Role Summary
Lumenix is seeking a Solutions Engineer to lead technical client engagement for the AIMS platform. This role is responsible for delivering compelling, technically accurate demonstrations and supporting the technical aspects of sales engagements, client discovery, and solution development.
You will take ownership of demonstration preparation and execution, including the configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of demonstration environments. You will act as a technical representative in discussions with hospital CIOs, biomedical engineering, infection prevention, nursing leadership, privacy officers, and procurement teams.
Working closely with sales, engineering, and executive leadership, you will help prospective clients understand AIMS capabilities, evaluate technical requirements, and identify appropriate solutions while ensuring that proposed implementations remain consistent with the platform's capabilities and development priorities.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead technical demonstrations of AIMS for clinical, technical, and executive audiences, both on-site and virtually.
● Own the preparation, configuration, testing, and execution of demonstration environments, ensuring reliable and repeatable presentations with minimal dependence on development resources.
● Act as the technical lead in client conversations, including requirements discovery, solution design, and responses to questions concerning architecture, security, privacy, networking, and integration.
● Assess prospective client requirements against existing platform capabilities, identify technical constraints, and communicate implementation feasibility accurately.
● Ensure that technical representations and proposed solutions are consistent with current product capabilities. Escalate requests requiring new development, architectural changes, or uncommitted delivery timelines for appropriate review and authorization.
● Support conferences, trade events, and speaking engagements as a technical representative of Lumenix.
● Contribute technical content to proposals, RFP and tender responses, and client-facing documentation.
● Develop and maintain reusable demonstration materials, technical presentations, and supporting documentation to improve the consistency and scalability of technical sales activities.
● Communicate client requirements, objections, and technical feedback to product and engineering teams to inform development priorities and product improvements.
Skills
● Exceptional presentation skills, with genuine comfort in front of senior clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
● Strong technical fluency across software, hardware, networking, and system integration.
● Ability to translate technical capabilities into clinical and operational value.
● Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in the preparation and execution of technical demonstrations.
● Strong listening, discovery, and requirements-gathering skills.
● Sound technical judgment, composure when challenged, and honesty about product limitations.
● Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across sales, product, and engineering.
Qualifications
● Five or more years in solutions engineering, technical sales, pre-sales, or a comparable client-facing technical role.
● Demonstrated experience independently preparing and leading technically complex product demonstrations and client engagements.
● Strong technical background sufficient to understand and discuss system architecture, hardware and software integration, networking, security, privacy, and deployment requirements.
● Demonstrated ability to assess technical requirements, identify integration challenges, and distinguish existing product capabilities from proposed or future functionality.
● Experience selling into or working with complex institutional buyers.
● Willingness to travel regularly.
● Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
● Experience selling into hospitals or health systems.
● Familiarity with healthcare privacy and security requirements such as PHIPA or HIPAA.
● Background in IoT, edge computing, computer vision, or distributed sensor systems.
● Bilingual English and French.
● Experience supporting public sector procurement and tender processes.
The actual base salary compensation will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and education or training.
