The Lower Nicola Indian Band invites you to apply to sit on the Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area Steering Committee

Our current appointed Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area (IPCA) Steering Committee’s term ends October 12, 2025.

The IPCA Steering Committee (“the committee”) is tasked with determining LNIB’s strategy for implementing an IPCA within Nlaka’pamux territory. The Committee will provide strategic direction to the IPCA project team, consult with key knowledge holders, technical experts, and membership, and identify LNIB’s priorities and member interests related to the establishment of an IPCA within LNIB’s traditional territory.

The committee will be composed of one member of Chief and Council, one Elder or key knowledge holder, the Director of Economic Development, one member of the IPCA project team, and one LNIB member at large.

We are looking for members to apply for the Elder/key knowledge holder position or the member at large position. Committee Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.
