POSITION PURPOSE

This position exists to support the mission and vision of Lifecentre Church by assisting in the care, maintenance, and operation of the Orleans Campus. Working alongside the Campus Administrator and Assistant Property Manager, the Part-Time Assistant Property Manager provides hands-on facility maintenance, custodial support, event setup, and seasonal property care to help ensure the campus remains safe, clean, welcoming, and ready for ministry. Through faithful stewardship of Lifecentre’s facilities and a servant-hearted approach, this role helps create environments where people can encounter Jesus and experience authentic community.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in custodial services, facilities maintenance, building operations, property maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a church, school, commercial, or community facility is considered an asset.
  • WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain, is required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, cleaning procedures, and minor repair techniques.
  • Ability to identify facility maintenance needs and communicate them appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently while following direction and collaborating effectively with the Campus Administrator, Assistant Property Manager, staff, and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and maintenance procedures.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation preferred.

Physical Requirements & Personal Attributes

  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and operating maintenance and cleaning equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Lifecentre continues to grow and expand its ministry, the Part-Time Assistant Property Manager supports the care, maintenance, and operation of the Orleans Campus. Working alongside the Campus Administrator and Assistant Property Manager, this role provides hands-on facility maintenance, custodial services, event support, and seasonal property care to help ensure the campus remains safe, clean, welcoming, and ministry-ready.


Primary responsibilities include maintaining campus cleanliness, assisting with preventative maintenance and repairs, preparing ministry environments, supporting worship services and events, and helping steward Lifecentre’s facilities through faithful care and operational excellence.


Specific responsibilities are outlined in Appendix A. As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, these responsibilities may be modified from time to time to meet the changing needs of the ministry.

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager helps maintain clean, safe, organized, and welcoming ministry environments throughout the Orleans Campus. Through excellent custodial care and attention to detail, this role helps ensure the campus is prepared to support worship services, ministry programs, community events, and daily operations.


3. Facility Maintenance Support [ 5% ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager assists with routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, facility inspections, and minor repairs. Working under the direction of the Campus Administrator and Assistant Property Manager, this role helps ensure church facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.


4. Ministry Support & Event Support [ 15% ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager supports the setup, operation, and teardown of worship services, ministry programs, meetings, and special events by preparing ministry environments and responding to operational needs as assigned.


5. Seasonal Maintenance & Grounds [ 40 % ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager assists with maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and accessibility of the Orleans Campus through seasonal grounds maintenance, snow and ice management, landscaping support, and exterior campus care.

2. Custodial Services & Campus Readiness [ 40% ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager helps maintain clean, safe, organized, and welcoming ministry environments throughout the Orleans Campus. Through excellent custodial care and attention to detail, this role helps ensure the campus is prepared to support worship services, ministry programs, community events, and daily operations. Including, but not limited to:

  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming ministry environments throughout the Orleans Campus.
  • Perform routine cleaning of washrooms, classrooms, offices, kitchens, lobbies, and common areas.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, sanitize, and disinfect assigned areas.
  • Remove garbage, recycling, and compost while maintaining a clean campus.
  • Replenish custodial and washroom supplies as needed.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness throughout scheduled shifts and address concerns promptly.
  • Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the Assistant Property Manager or Campus Administrator.
  • Maintain custodial equipment and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.


3. Facility Maintenance Support [ 5% ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager assists with routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, facility inspections, and minor repairs. Working under the direction of the Campus Administrator and Assistant Property Manager, this role helps ensure church facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections.
  • Complete minor maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
  • Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, hardware, and other building components.
  • Assist with painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other general maintenance projects.
  • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance projects.
  • Support contractors and service providers while work is being completed on site.
  • Report larger repair needs requiring additional attention.


4. Ministry Support & Event Operations [ 15% ]

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager supports the setup, operation, and teardown of worship services, ministry programs, meetings, and special events by preparing ministry environments and responding to operational needs as assigned. Including, but not limited to:

  • Set up and tear down rooms for worship services, meetings, classes, and special events.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, staging, and ministry equipment according to event requirements.
  • Ensure ministry environments are clean, stocked, and ready before scheduled activities.
  • Respond to ministry facility requests in a timely and service-oriented manner.
  • Support worship services, conferences, and church-wide events with operational needs.
  • Help maintain storage areas, ministry equipment, and shared spaces in an organized manner.


5. Seasonal Maintenance & Grounds (40%)

The Part-Time Assistant Property Manager assists with maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and accessibility of the Orleans Campus through seasonal grounds maintenance, snow and ice management, landscaping support, and exterior campus care. Including but not limited to:

  • Assist with snow removal, salting, and ice management to maintain safe access to the campus.
  • Support seasonal landscaping, gardening, litter removal, and exterior property upkeep.
  • Maintain entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor gathering spaces.
  • Assist with seasonal decorating and campus beautification projects.
  • Monitor exterior areas for safety concerns and report issues promptly.
  • Support seasonal preventative maintenance projects and exterior facility care.


Flexibility of Duties: As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, employees may be assigned additional or modified responsibilities that are reasonably related to their position, skills, and organizational needs. Such changes do not alter the fundamental nature of the position and will be communicated as appropriate.

Additional Required Activities

The sample workweek outlined above reflects the employee’s regular scheduled office hours. Due to the nature of ministry, employees should expect to participate in additional activities outside their regular schedule as part of their salaried compensation.

These activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Sunday services and ministry responsibilities (where applicable to the position).
  • Staff meetings, leadership meetings, and department meetings.
  • Annual staff retreats, training, and professional development.
  • Annual Business Meetings and congregational meetings.
  • Church-wide events, conferences, and ministry initiatives.
  • Volunteer appreciation events and leadership gatherings.
  • Periodic evening and weekend responsibilities.
  • Other duties reasonably related to the position.


The frequency and specific expectations for these activities vary by position and will be outlined in the employee’s Employment Agreement and applicable Schedule(s). Employees are expected to fulfill these responsibilities as part of their overall role and compensation.
