POSITION PURPOSE
This position exists to support the mission and vision of Lifecentre Church by providing administrative, organizational, creative, and relational support to the LifeStudents ministry. Working alongside the Assistant Pastor, LifeStudents, the Ministry Assistant helps create safe, welcoming, and Christ-centred environments where students can encounter Jesus, build authentic community, and grow in their God-given purpose.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bible college, ministry training, or post-secondary education in ministry, theology, leadership, education, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent ministry experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- 1–3 years of experience working or volunteering in a ministry setting, early childhood education, camp ministry, or a relevant administrative role.
- Able to initiate, execute and manage effective systems to communicate to others
- Able to mobilize teams to accomplish a mission
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects/systems simultaneously
- Results-focused leadership with persuasive interpersonal skills adaptable to a variety of personalities and situations
- Professional in speech, conduct and presentation, worthy of representing Lifecentre well in all organizational and city-wide interactions
- Ability to produce each service and execute creative elements with excellence and heart.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As Lifecentre continues to grow and expand its ministry, the Ministry Assistant plays an important role in supporting the effective operation of the LifeStudents ministry. Working alongside the Assistant Pastor, LifeStudents, this position provides administrative, organizational, creative, and relational support to help carry out the mission and vision of Lifecentre Church.
Primary responsibilities include supporting weekly ministry environments, coordinating volunteers, assisting with communications and ministry administration, helping plan and execute events, preparing ministry resources, and building meaningful relationships with students and families. The Ministry Assistant also collaborates with staff and volunteers to ensure ministry activities are carried out with excellence, consistency, and care.
Specific responsibilities are outlined in Appendix A. As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, these responsibilities may be modified from time to time to meet the changing needs of the ministry.
1. Model Biblical Priorities [ Ongoing ]
Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Lifecentre. The Ministry Assistant should represent a growing personal relationship with Jesus. The Ministry Assistant should model a strong relationship with their spouse (if married) and children (if applicable). They strive to fulfill their purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.
2. Develop, Initiate and Execute Creative Elements for Student Ministry [ 40% ]
The Ministry Assistant provides support for the different activities, programs and ongoing ministry for youth that is consistent with the needs and interests of the community. One of the main functions of the Ministry Assistant is to serve as a mentor figure who will lead, motivate and serve as a role model to youth in active programs. As well as serve as an administrative help to the Pastor of LifeStudents. Must have the capability of managing large groups of youth (Junior High through High School) in a variety of programs and work independently.
3. Support Youth Ministry Environments (Adjustable for events or needs in the student ministry) [ 30% ]
Responsible for helping aid the LifeStudents ministry whether in Sr. High or Jr. High, in planning and executing events where applicable. As well as being present at UNTD events and All-in nights alongside the Pastor of LifeStudents, and aiding with any other needs in the student ministry. The Ministry Assistant will be encouraged to initiate ideas while working with the Pastor of LifeStudents to produce meaningful service experiences with the appropriate vision, dynamic, and leadership.
4. Administrative Duties [ 30% ]
Responsible for overseeing various administrative duties that assist in organizing, managing, reporting, and accounting for duties specific in relation to the youth and all service element requirements.

- Committing to a daily quiet-time with God
- Participating in a Lifecentre small group on a regular basis
- Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity
- Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church
- Modelling servanthood and generosity through time, talent and treasure
- Adhere to the expectations outlined in the Lifecentre Lifestyle Manual and all applicable church policies.
2. Develop, Initiate and Execute Creative Elements for Student Ministry [ 40% ]
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of LifeStudents programs, events, and weekly gatherings by developing engaging ministry experiences for students. Assist with creative planning, program delivery, volunteer coordination, administrative support, and student engagement while helping create safe, welcoming, and Christ-centred environments for junior high and high school students. Includes, but is not limited to:
- Creative planning including service design: Formulate and execute a creative vision for weekly student services, incorporating engaging worship experiences and interactive elements (e.g., response stations, altar calls, media, worship lighting, etc.).
- Program delivery: Design unique, scalable games and icebreakers that maintain high energy and appeal to both outgoing and introverted students. Oversee the weekly execution of student programming, ensuring a welcoming, high-energy environment from the moment a student arrives. Partner with tech, media, and worship teams to ensure seamless execution of audio, visual, and stage elements.
- Volunteer coordination, including leading volunteer teams, setting vision, and running team meetings. Run regular team meetings to align volunteers with the ministry's mission, celebrate wins, and equip them to care for students.
- Student engagement, connecting with students, ensuring each one is engaged and seen at each ministry moment.
3. Support Youth Ministry Environments [ 30% ]
Responsible for helping aid the LifeStudents ministry whether in Sr. High or Jr. High, in planning and executing events where applicable. As well as being present at UNTD events and All-in nights alongside the Pastor of LifeStudents, and aiding with any other needs in the student ministry. - Serve as a key leader in executing LifeStudents events, managing logistics, schedules, and tech/media coordination to ensure seamless operations.
- Help execute and lead LifeStudents events, i.e retreats, camps, all-in nights, UNTD nights.
- Maintain a visible presence at LifeStudents events and in the community to build authentic, lasting relationships with students.
- Coordinate volunteers for LifeStudents events, including scheduling and strategically deploying adult volunteers for all weekly environments and special LifeStudents events (Camps, All-In Nights, etc.).
- Lead volunteer teams on-site at events, providing clear direction, role assignments, and real-time support.
- Helping with the planning and preparation for LifeStudents events.
4. Ministry Administration [ 30% ]
Responsible for overseeing various administrative duties that assist in organizing, managing, reporting, and accounting for duties specific in relation to the youth and all service element requirements. Includes, but is not limited to:
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain Planning Center and other ministry systems, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules, service plans, registrations, and ministry communications.
- Prepare ministry resources, reports, forms, and event materials.
- Utilize software including Planning Center, Canva, Zoom, Dropbox, ProPresenter, Lightkey, and other approved ministry systems.
- Maintain accurate ministry records, attendance, and documentation.
- Assist with purchasing, inventory, and ministry resource management.
- Support communication with students, parents, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
- Recommend improvements to ministry systems, workflows, and administrative processes that enhance the volunteer and participant experience.
Flexibility of Duties: As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, employees may be assigned additional or modified responsibilities that are reasonably related to their position, skills, and organizational needs. Such changes do not alter the fundamental nature of the position and will be communicated as appropriate.

Additional Required Activities
The sample workweek outlined above reflects the employee’s regular scheduled office hours. Due to the nature of ministry, employees should expect to participate in additional activities outside their regular schedule as part of their salaried compensation.
These activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Sunday services and ministry responsibilities (where applicable to the position).
- Staff meetings, leadership meetings, and department meetings.
- Annual staff retreats, training, and professional development.
- Annual Business Meetings and congregational meetings.
- Church-wide events, conferences, and ministry initiatives.
- Volunteer appreciation events and leadership gatherings.
- Periodic evening and weekend responsibilities.
- Other duties reasonably related to the position.
The frequency and specific expectations for these activities vary by position and will be outlined in the employee’s Employment Agreement and applicable Schedule(s). Employees are expected to fulfill these responsibilities as part of their overall role and compensation.
