LEADER: Campus Pastor

WORKWEEK: Sunday - Thursday

HOURS: 40 hours per week

TERM: Fixed Term Contract

PERIOD: 1 year (Renewable)

PURPOSE STATEMENT: The role of the Assistant Pastor: Connections is to oversee and champion the connection and growth strategy of Lifecentre, which leads guests to a genuine sense of connection, community and discipleship at Lifecentre. This requires a firm grasp of the values and culture of Lifecentre, as well as the ability to successfully connect people, build teams, and work hand in hand alongside the Assistant Pastor: Discipleship and Campus Pastor of Orleans.

  • Devoted to the call of God and the vision/mission/strategic approach of Lifecentre
  • Has a passion for Jesus, people and our city
  • Self-motivated leader and team builder
  • Able to communicate vision with passion, clarity and enthusiasm
  • A galvanizer who people desire to connect with and look to for building teams.
  • Willing to learn new programs as needed
  • Is currently (or willing to become) a member of Lifecentre


SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-motivated, driven, and able to prioritize
  • Able to walk with people from guests to members of Lifecentre
  • Knowledgeable in connection and spiritual formation processes.
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills
  • Able to initiate, execute and manage effective systems that better care for people
  • Willing to learn new programs as needed
  • Results-focused leadership with persuasive interpersonal skills adaptable to a variety of personalities and situations.
  • Holds credentials (or willing to work towards) with PAOC or Ministers Network Canada

RESPONSIBILITIES: As Lifecentre grows and plants new campuses, there is an increased need for a Connection Pastor to help care for first-time guests and causal attendees while providing clear steps and opportunities to connect them in the church's life.


The Connections Pastor’s main focus of responsibilities include:

(Examples of responsibilities are outlined in “Appendix A”)


1. Model Biblical Priorities

Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and care values of Lifecentre. The Connections Pastor should represent a growing personal relationship with Jesus, model a strong relationship with their spouse and children and strive to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships and actions.


2. Oversight and Execution of Guests, Planted, and Rooted
Responsible for leading people into discovering their God-given purpose and helping them get connected into a group, membership and/or a serving team even taking a step to be water baptized.


3. Facilitate Connections and Care Through LifeTEAMS

Responsible for modelling, coaching and curating genuine relationships and connections within each serving team at Lifecentre.


4. Oversight and Execution of Guest Services Teams
Responsible for creating an environment that welcomes new guests and provides clear next steps toward connection and spiritual growth.


5. Contribute to and Support the Growth of Lifecentre

Responsible for being a team player who continually looks for ways to make Lifecentre better, while contributing their unique spiritual gifts and personality to advance the church’s mission and vision.


Note: Lifecentre requires flexibility and therefore has the right to make changes to employees’ jobs and compensation without resulting in a constructive dismissal.

APPENDIX A


1. Model Biblical Priorities

Including but not limited to:

  • Committing to a daily quiet-time with God
  • Participating in a Lifecentre small group on a regular basis
  • Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity
  • Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church
  • Modelling servanthood and generosity through time, talent and treasure
  • Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of Lifecentre employees, as defined by the Lifestyle Manual


2. Oversight and Execution of Guests, Planted, and Rooted

Including but not limited to:

  • Receiving weekly Connect Cards (Print/Digital) and promptly following up with each one.
  • Facilitating and continuing improving the systems that lead people from being in the crowd to the core of Lifecentre
  • Recruiting leaders, facilitators, and assistants to help move Planted/Rooted and connect as many people as possible to make a Jesus-sized difference in our city.
  • Being responsible for training leaders who are ‘Carriers of the Heart’ to lead and facilitate Planted/Rooted.
  • Supporting and evaluating Planted/Rooted at each campus, providing resources, training and guidance as needed
  • Updating and maintaining profiles, data, workflows, lists and schedules in Planning Centre: our church management tool.


3. Facilitate Connections and Care Through LifeTEAMS

Including but not limited to:

  • Fostering team environments that allow for personal connection, care and spiritual growth through serving
  • Working with ministry team leaders to recruit, train and empower volunteer team members
  • Providing centralized efforts and opportunities for training and resourcing team leaders
  • Communicating clear vision and wins for volunteer teams regularly
  • Coordinating with staff and ministry leaders to measure and monitor volunteer connections


4. Oversight and Execution of Guest Services Teams
Including but not limited to:

  • Leading, equipping and empowering guest service volunteers and team leaders in providing high impact first impressions
  • Removing roadblocks from first-time guests' experience in all Lifecentre’s services.
  • Providing guest service teams with best practices from innovative customer service-focused organizations
  • Ensuring kiosks, booths, signage and key areas are current, clear and accessible for new people
  • Creating and continually improving Lifecentre’s follow-up process to ensure the newcomers get connected to the life and ministry of Lifecentre


5. Contribute to and Support the Growth of Lifecentre

Including but not limited to:

  • Assisting in developing ideas and content for our services and events
  • Assisting with timely and effective Pastoral Care. This includes, but not limited to: weddings, funerals, visitations and baby dedications
  • Assisting the Campus Pastor as needed with responsibilities that strengthen the campus and church organization
