POSITION PURPOSE

This position exists to support the mission and vision of Lifecentre Church by assisting in the care, maintenance, and operation of the Orleans Campus. Working alongside the Campus Administrator, the Assistant Property Manager helps ensure the campus is safe, clean, welcoming, and fully operational for worship services, ministry programs, community events, and daily operations. Through faithful stewardship of Lifecentre’s facilities, preventative maintenance, operational support, and collaborative leadership, this role helps create environments where people can encounter Jesus and experience authentic community.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial services, building operations, property management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance projects, contractors, or facility operations is considered an asset.
  • WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain, is required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.


Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to changing operational needs.
  • Working knowledge of building maintenance, cleaning procedures, and basic repair techniques.
  • Ability to identify facility maintenance needs, troubleshoot problems, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Comfortable using technology and willing to learn facility management systems and software.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation preferred.


Physical Requirements & Personal Attributes

  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and operating maintenance and cleaning equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Lifecentre continues to grow and expand its ministry, the Assistant Property Manager supports the care, operation, and stewardship of the Orleans Campus. Working alongside the Campus Administrator, this role provides operational leadership, facility maintenance, custodial oversight, and ministry support to ensure the campus remains safe, functional, welcoming, and prepared for worship services, ministry programs, community events, and daily operations.


Primary responsibilities include overseeing facility operations and maintenance, coordinating custodial services and campus readiness, supporting ministry events, maintaining building systems and assets, and ensuring operational excellence through preventative maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement.


Specific responsibilities are outlined in Appendix A. As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, these responsibilities may be modified from time to time to meet the changing needs of the ministry.

2. Facilities Operations & Maintenance [ 10% ]

The Assistant Property Manager supports the ongoing operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Orleans Campus by ensuring building systems, equipment, and facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Through preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and project coordination, this role helps provide reliable environments that support ministry every day.


3. Custodial Services & Campus Readiness [ 50% ]

The Assistant Property Manager helps maintain clean, organized, and welcoming facilities by coordinating custodial responsibilities and ensuring ministry spaces are prepared for worship services, events, and daily operations. This role contributes to a positive first impression for everyone who enters the campus.


4. Ministry Support & Event Operations [ 20% ]

The Assistant Property Manager supports worship services, ministry programs, conferences, and special events by preparing ministry environments, coordinating room setups, responding to operational requests, and working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure facilities effectively support ministry.


5. Seasonal Maintenance & Grounds [ 10 % ]

The Assistant Property Manager helps maintain the exterior appearance, safety, and accessibility of the Orleans Campus throughout the changing seasons. Through proactive grounds maintenance, seasonal preparation, and ongoing site inspections, this role helps ensure the campus remains welcoming, functional, and safe for staff, volunteers, and guests year-round.


6. Administration, Safety & Asset Stewardship [ 10% ]

The Assistant Property Manager supports the effective administration of Facilities & Operations by maintaining maintenance records, coordinating vendors and contractors, assisting with inventory and purchasing, promoting workplace safety, and helping ensure church facilities are stewarded responsibly and efficiently.

2. Facilities Operations & Maintenance (10%)

The Assistant Property Manager supports the ongoing operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Orleans Campus by ensuring building systems, equipment, and facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Through preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and project coordination, this role helps provide reliable environments that support ministry every day. Including, but not limited to:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections throughout the Orleans Campus.
  • Complete minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical fixtures, painting, carpentry, hardware, and building systems.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and coordinate larger repairs with contractors or service providers as directed.
  • Maintain building systems and equipment to maximize reliability and lifespan.
  • Monitor the condition of church facilities and recommend improvements or preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and workshop areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and capital maintenance initiatives.


3. Custodial Services & Campus Readiness (50%)

The Assistant Property Manager helps maintain clean, organized, and welcoming facilities by coordinating custodial responsibilities and ensuring ministry spaces are prepared for worship services, events, and daily operations. This role contributes to a positive first impression for everyone who enters the campus. Including, but not limited to:

  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming ministry environments throughout the campus.
  • Ensure washrooms, classrooms, offices, kitchens, lobbies, and common areas meet Lifecentre’s standards of cleanliness.
  • Monitor and replenish custodial and facility supplies.
  • Remove waste, recycling, and compost as required.
  • Ensure ministry environments are fully prepared before worship services, meetings, and special events.
  • Respond promptly to facility issues that impact staff, volunteers, or guests.
  • Promote a positive first impression by maintaining a high standard of presentation throughout the campus.


4. Ministry Support & Event Operations (20%)

The Assistant Property Manager supports worship services, ministry programs, conferences, and special events by preparing ministry environments, coordinating room setups, responding to operational requests, and working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure facilities effectively support ministry. Including, but not limited to:

  • Prepare rooms for worship services, meetings, classes, weddings, funerals, conferences, and special events.
  • Coordinate room layouts, staging, tables, chairs, and ministry equipment according to ministry requirements.
  • Support Sunday services and other church-wide events with operational and facility needs.
  • Respond to ministry requests in a timely and service-oriented manner.
  • Assist staff and volunteers with facility-related needs before, during, and after events.
  • Maintain storage areas, equipment, and ministry resources in an organized and accessible manner.


5. Seasonal Maintenance & Grounds (10%)

The Assistant Property Manager helps maintain the exterior appearance, safety, and accessibility of the Orleans Campus throughout the changing seasons. Through proactive grounds maintenance, seasonal preparation, and ongoing site inspections, this role helps ensure the campus remains welcoming, functional, and safe for staff, volunteers, and guests year-round. Including but not limited to:

  • Assist with snow removal, salting, and ice management to maintain safe access to the campus.
  • Support lawn care, landscaping, gardening, and seasonal beautification projects.
  • Maintain entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior gathering spaces.
  • Monitor the grounds for safety concerns and report or address issues promptly.
  • Assist with seasonal decorations, exterior signage, and campus presentation.
  • Support preventative maintenance projects related to the building exterior and grounds.
  • Ensure outdoor furniture, waste receptacles, and exterior ministry spaces remain clean, safe, and ready for use.


6. Administration, Safety & Asset Stewardship (10%)

The Assistant Property Manager supports the effective administration of Facilities & Operations by maintaining maintenance records, coordinating vendors and contractors, assisting with inventory and purchasing, promoting workplace safety, and helping ensure church facilities are stewarded responsibly and efficiently. Including, but not limited to:

  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and facility documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and supply ordering.
  • Support contractor scheduling and vendor coordination as assigned.
  • Promote compliance with workplace safety practices, WHMIS requirements, and church safety procedures.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, facility inspections, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal coordination, salting, landscaping, and exterior campus appearance.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency, facility stewardship, and the overall campus experience.


Flexibility of Duties: As Lifecentre continues to grow and evolve, employees may be assigned additional or modified responsibilities that are reasonably related to their position, skills, and organizational needs. Such changes do not alter the fundamental nature of the position and will be communicated as appropriate.

Additional Required Activities

The sample workweek outlined above reflects the employee’s regular scheduled office hours. Due to the nature of ministry, employees should expect to participate in additional activities outside their regular schedule as part of their salaried compensation.

These activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Sunday services and ministry responsibilities (where applicable to the position).
  • Staff meetings, leadership meetings, and department meetings.
  • Annual staff retreats, training, and professional development.
  • Annual Business Meetings and congregational meetings.
  • Church-wide events, conferences, and ministry initiatives.
  • Volunteer appreciation events and leadership gatherings.
  • Periodic evening and weekend responsibilities.
  • Other duties reasonably related to the position.


The frequency and specific expectations for these activities vary by position and will be outlined in the employee’s Employment Agreement and applicable Schedule(s). Employees are expected to fulfill these responsibilities as part of their overall role and compensation.
