Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Ottawa to contribute to the specification, design, development, and testing of our core products within the Electronic Warfare domain.

In this role you will be responsible for providing guidance and direction to the software and systems engineering teams, leading the day-to-day delivery activities of the team with an emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction. This is a Hybrid position that will require in person support at our Ottawa office.

Key Responsibilities:

· Elicit, analyze, and document stakeholder needs and contractual requirements.

· Translate stakeholder needs and contractual requirements into system and software requirements.

· Develop designs and architectures that meet system/software requirements to provide a complete and coherent baseline for implementation.

· Plan and execute integration, verification, and validation activities.

· Establish traceability from stakeholder needs and contractual requirements to delivered products to ensure design compliance and obtain customer acceptance.

· Develop engineering plans and ensure compliance with established designs and standards.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.

· 10+ years experience as a systems engineer working on software systems.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts and information in both one-on-one and group settings.

· Experience as technical point of contact for customer interactions.

· Experience leading engineering teams.

Desirable Qualifications (Nice to Have):

· Experience using Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approaches to develop software systems.

· Experience in the defence and security industry.

· Experience working with test automation frameworks for web applications.

Security Clearance

Given the nature of our software development work, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate receive the required security clearances. Successful candidates must be eligible for Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to NATO SECRET level.

In general, in order to obtain these clearances, you

· Must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

· Must have lived in Canada continuously for the past 10 years;

· Must not have a criminal record.
