We are currently hiring an Electronic Warfare Training Lead to join our team to lead training development and delivery lead the training discipline within the Engineering function.

Your role will have an overarching mandate to provide EW SME support across all aspects of the business. With a heavy emphasis on EW Operational Support, modelling and simulation, EW software tools, Counter UAS Planning and Analysis, EW Mission Planning and Analysis and in general to all facets of EW technologies, concepts and doctrine. You will contribute your experience and knowledge in the creation of Con-Ops and Use Cases to inform the EW modelling and simulation team in developing new capabilities.

The EW Training Lead role will pioneer efforts to establish the LCE EW Academy which will offer courses ranging from EW Fundamentals through to advanced EO/IR/RF topics and Counter UAS. This role will require you to contribute to the design, develop and delivery of courses; identify and mentor instructors for the LCE EW Academy; and market, promote and support business winning for the LCE EW Academy.

Your Role:

• Establishing a dedicated EW training team within LCE developing training products for large complex EW training solutions to Canadian and overseas customers.

• Developing courseware which provides part of an integrated solution to complex EW systems

• Establishing training products for large complex EW training solutions, in support of cutting-edge technologies, to domestic and overseas customers.

• Supporting the future training needs of, and working closely with our customers, to ensure that our solutions meet their future training needs.

• Working closely with internal stakeholders and overseas partners to establish a market leading training capability encapsulating portfolio of training material, the mechanism for delivering training and ensuring LCE retain the internal expertise necessary to deliver said training.

• Liaising with technical specialist teams to define training requirements and develop technical understanding of complex EW Systems.

• Deliver training within the Canada and overseas at our customers and industry partners sites, potential for extended travel abroad (including the Middle East) with overnight stays.

What We Are Looking For:

The EW Training Lead should have a high level of knowledge and expertise across the following subject areas:

• Must be capable of designing and producing training courses, tailoring courses to specific needs, including writing all training documentation, such as syllabi, training programmes, handouts, and briefs.

• Experience of delivering training utilising modern training techniques

• Hold or willing to achieve as a minimum AET Level 3 teaching qualification

• Knowledge of a system approach to training, such as JSP 822

• Knowledge of defence and / or commercial training standards

• Excellent written and verbal presentation ability.

• Experienced users of training development applications including MS software and others

• The ability to work in a small team, with a flexible approach to working

• Experience of working alongside internal stakeholders, external customers and industrial partners.

• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally to deliver training at customer sites. on a semi-regular basis

• Defense Systems for Air, Land or Naval platforms. Preference is given to Air platforms, but all areas of knowledge will be considered an asset.

• Understanding of EW Countermeasure design, weapon system analysis and threat vulnerability assessment

• Comprehensive understanding of Electronic Warfare with preference given to knowledge of EW Operational Support, EW Range operations, EW Mission Planning and EW C2

• Knowledge of Counter Unmanned Air System Solutions/Operations, or Cyber Electromagnetic Activities would be preferable.


The “nice to haves”:

• Knowledge of and familiarity with Canadian and international training standards


Security Clearance

Given the nature of our software development work, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate receive and maintain the required security clearances. Successful candidates must be eligible for Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to NATO SECRET level.

In general, to obtain these clearances, you

• Must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

• Must have lived in Canada continuously for the past 10 years
