Travel, both domestic and international, will be required periodically to deliver training either onsite at our Ottawa facility or at a customer location.

Your role will have an overarching mandate to provide EW SME support across all aspects of the business. With a heavy emphasis on EW Operational Support, modelling and simulation, EW software tools, Counter UAS Planning and Analysis, EW Mission Planning and Analysis and in general to all facets of EW technologies, concepts and doctrine.


What you will do

As the Electronic Warfare Lead, you will provide EW consultancy and subject matter expertise (SME) support across projects, functions, and teams within LCE. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Development Support:
    • Advise on EW-related user and operational needs for business opportunities.
    • Identify and communicate potential new opportunities discovered in the course of your work.
  • Product & Capability Development:
    • Contribute to product enhancements and creation of new products that align with LCE’s Strategic Plan and Integrated Business Plan (IBP).
    • Provide guidance on capabilities needed to address operational deficiencies and user requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for sponsored investments, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Project Leadership & Expertise:
    • Serve as a key contributor to active delivery projects, offering operational insights and expertise on real-world EW systems.
    • Lead the EW team by mentoring and training personnel to enhance EW domain knowledge.
    • Assist in developing representative demonstration materials and supporting customer demos.
  • LCE EW Academy Development:
    • Support the establishment of the LCE EW Academy, which will offer courses from EW fundamentals to advanced EO/IR/RF topics.
    • Contribute to the design and development of training courses.


What we are looking for

The ideal candidate for the EW Lead role will have extensive knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

  • Defense Systems for Air, Land, or Naval platforms.
  • EW Operations, including range operations, mission planning, and command & control (C2).
  • EW Countermeasures design, weapon system analysis, and threat vulnerability assessments.
  • Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) operations.
  • Threat Systems relevant to the Canadian Military, NATO, and allied nations.
  • Open-Source EW Intelligence awareness.
  • Military Knowledge, well versed across various military domains.
  • Travel Flexibility, including willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer engagements and business development activities.


The EW Lead should also be able to provide instruction and advice to our customers on the use of our tools and how they apply to modern EW warfare practices.


We recognise that having experience in ‘all’ of the above is a big ask, so we encourage all those with a strong background in a subset of those listed to apply. We are looking for a person that can take their current EW Operations knowledge and learn to apply it across a broader spectrum of Use Cases that employ systems that operate within the Electromagnetic Spectrum.


Security Clearance

Given the nature of our software development work, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate receive the required security clearances. Successful candidates must be eligible for Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to NATO SECRET level.

In general, in order to obtain these clearances, you

Must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

Must have lived in Canada continuously for the past 10 years;

Must not have a criminal record.
