Your Impact at LAURIN
As a High‑Rise Superintendent at LAURIN, you will be a key on‑site leader responsible for the successful execution of complex multi‑storey residential projects. You will champion safety, quality, and coordination across all phases of construction — from excavation and structure through enclosure, interiors, commissioning, and turnover — while working closely with Project Managers, consultants, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all day‑to‑day construction activities for high‑rise projects, ensuring safe, efficient execution in accordance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and LAURIN standards.
- Serve as LAURIN’s primary on‑site leader, managing vertical construction activities including concrete structure, building envelope, interior finishes, base building systems, and suite turnover.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage detailed construction schedules, site logistics, vertical sequencing, hoisting strategy, and manpower planning; experience with pull planning and Lean construction methodologies is considered a strong asset.
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all sub‑trades and suppliers, ensuring productivity, quality control, schedule adherence, and site safety expectations are consistently met across all project phases.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety representatives in the administration of COR™ protocols and LAURIN’s Health & Safety Program, maintaining strong knowledge of safety requirements and proactively identifying and addressing site risks.
- Assist management in planning, organizing, and controlling construction activities, including identifying constructability challenges, schedule risks, sequencing conflicts, and coordination issues typical to high‑rise construction.
- Lead site logistics planning, including crane operations, hoisting, material flow, access control, and coordination within constrained urban environments.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Assistant Superintendents, Supervisors, and site staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, condominium representatives, and local trade partners, representing LAURIN with professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership.
- Attend and participate in site meetings, inspections, deficiency reviews, and turnover coordination, ensuring clear communication of project progress, risks, and priorities.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by the Vice President or senior management.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on high‑rise or multi‑storey residential construction projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects with values typically exceeding $40 million, including complex sequencing and phased turnover.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills within a fast‑paced vertical construction environment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex field‑level challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong proficiency with construction‑related software and systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), MS Project, and Autodesk Construction Cloud platforms; experience with Lean construction, pull planning, or Lean Six Sigma (Construction) is considered a strong asset.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and client‑focused project delivery.
Education & Professional Credentials
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience.
- Professional certifications such as Gold Seal, P.Eng, or equivalent are considered assets.
Security Clearance
- Reliability Status required (Secret preferred) or the ability and willingness to obtain the appropriate clearance.
