Your Impact at LAURIN
As an HSE Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and compliant project execution. You’ll work closely with operational and project teams to promote a strong safety culture, address health and environmental risks, and ensure every activity aligns with our regulatory obligations and corporate HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all workers and visitors receive site safety orientation, including review and documentation of the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP), Hazard Identification, and Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Verify that all workers have the required training and certifications to safely perform their tasks.
- Escort and supervise visitors lacking required training or certifications while on site.
- Monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors through regular formal and informal site inspections; initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure weekly completion of site inspection reports from the Site Supervisor and track resolution of identified deficiencies.
- Maintain and update Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders as required.
- Lead incident, injury, and near-miss reporting; complete investigation and corrective action reports.
- Report all incidents and injuries to the Safety Manager promptly.
- Assist in rescue operations and/or administer first aid when required.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and management of site EHS programs.
- Conduct field safety meetings, toolbox talks, and health and safety awareness sessions.
- Administer, document, and manage the company’s COR program, ideally including COR 2020 compliance.
- Keep site management and Safety Manager informed of any issues that could impact work or safety compliance.
- Co-chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee, including completing and distributing meeting minutes and posting updates on site monthly.
- Chair the Worker’s Trades Committee, including completing and distributing meeting minutes and posting updates on site monthly.
- Serve as the Safety Representative on site, performing all associated duties.
- Utilize SiteDocs to manage, track, and maintain all site safety documentation and records.
- Other duties as required to support the safe and compliant execution of construction activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a safety role equivalent to this position within construction projects.
- NCSO certification required.
- Demonstrated experience developing Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and Emergency Response Plans (ERPs).
- Familiarity with COR programs, ideally COR 2020.
- Experience using SiteDocs or similar EHS documentation software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
- Proven ability to monitor, enforce, and improve safety compliance under fast-paced conditions.
Education & Professional Credentials
- High School Diploma required;
- post-secondary diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field considered an asset.
- NCSO certification, with other designations such as CRSP considered an asset.
- COR Internal Auditor, First Aid Certification, considered an asset.
Estimated Compensation
The salary range for this role is $60,000 — $90,000, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed in your personalized offer.
