IT Specialist
Location: Remote (Canada/UK) | Reports to: Business Operations Manager
Salary: $45,000-$50,000 (CAD) I $29,000 - 31,500 GBD
The Role
We’re seeking an IT Specialist to design and improve the processes that power LaunchGood’s global operations. You’ll manage core IT systems, including Google Workspace and device asset management, while building scalable workflows for software requests, employee onboarding/offboarding, and IT support.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll bridge technical execution and operational strategy, working closely with Business Operations, People, and cross-functional teams to ensure LaunchGood’s technology is secure, efficient, and mission-aligned. You’ll also play a key role in advancing company-wide AI initiatives, helping us adopt emerging technologies responsibly.
What You’ll Do
Develop & Improve IT Processes
- Create and refine IT workflows for new software requests, device asset management, and employee lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding).
- Establish and maintain an IT ticketing system to streamline requests and track resolution.
- Maintain LaunchGood’s cloud-based IT operations and automation software
Manage Systems & Tools
- Administer and optimize Google Workspace for all employees.
- Ensure smooth integration of ethical and compliant software solutions across the company.
Support Operations
- Act as the IT point of contact for software requests by managing all IT communication channels
- Collaborate with engineering to solve software/IT related problems across the organization
- Manage device inventory and asset tracking to support a distributed workforce.
- Provide technical support during onboarding and offboarding, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Complete annual software audits to ensure compliance, spend optimization, and access.
Advance Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate with the Business Operations Manager on company-wide AI initiatives, including adoption, training, and governance.
- Contribute to LaunchGood’s mission by promoting ethical software usage and sustainable IT practices.
Enhance Identity & Access Management
- Research, evaluate, and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions to strengthen security and streamline employee access.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including Leadership and Engineering—to ensure alignment with organizational needs and compliance standards.
Ensure Compliance & Security
- Implement IT security best practices for devices, accounts, and software.
- Support compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Establish documentation and governance standards for IT processes.
What You Bring
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in IT administration, systems management, or process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration and IT asset management.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and workflow automation.
- Has successfully troubleshooted and solved IT/software related problems in previous roles
- Understanding of compliance and ethical software practices (e.g., data privacy, licensing).
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a startup or mission-driven organization.
- Background in AI tools or initiatives.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Hands-on experience with IT automation or scripting.
