Junior Compliance Analyst -Philippines

As a Junior Compliance Analyst at LaunchGood, your role will contribute to safeguarding the platform by supporting our compliance function, with a strong focus on transaction monitoring. You will assist in reviewing user activity, investigating suspicious transactions, conducting due diligence on Campaign Creators (CCs) and donors, and ensuring our platform remains safe, compliant, and aligned with relevant regulations. You’ll work closely with the Trust and Safety, Ads, and BizDev teams to carry out your responsibilities and uphold the integrity of our crowdfunding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Monitoring and Investigations

• Monitor transactions on the platform daily to detect unusual or suspicious activity using internal tools and processes
• Conduct investigations into flagged transactions and escalate to the senior analyst when necessary
• Document findings clearly and maintain accurate records of all investigations and outcomes
• Maintain awareness of common transaction typologies and trends in financial crime, especially as it relates to online fundraising
• Manage daily notifications of fraud and chargebacks, ensuring timely review and response
• Respond to fraud related queries from donors and Campaign Creators via the Customer Experience team in a professional and supportive manner
• Identify fraud control deficiencies and assess the associated impact and risk
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues

Due Diligence on Campaign Creators (CCs)

• Perform KYC and onboarding checks on individuals and organizations in line with internal requirements
• Conduct open source screening, including World Check One, Google and adverse media checks
• Reviewing additional documents, such as MoUs, audited financials, annual and impact reports effectively
• Flag potential red flags or risks and escalate to senior compliance staff for further review
• Ensure records are kept up to date and documented clearly

Ads and Campaign Review

• Support the review of campaign Ads to ensure compliance with internal requirements
• Collaborate with the Ads and BizDev teams to flag concerns, request additional documents, or recommend changes to campaign pitches
• Track and meet the 24 hour SLA for Ads reviews alongside the wider team

KYC Documentation Review

• Assist with reviewing KYC documents provided by campaign creators and other platform users
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of KYC submissions and follow up on missing or unclear items with Trust and Safety
• Work with the Compliance team to refine KYC processes specific to crowdfunding

Internal Communication and Collaboration

• Respond to queries from internal teams (Trust and Safety, BizDev, Ads, etc.) in a timely and clear manner
• Update internal trackers and systems with findings and decisions
• Highlight urgent or concerning cases to the Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst, Compliance Manager or Director of Compliance promptly
• Participate in team meetings and cross functional calls as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a remote and collaborative environment
• Foundational understanding of compliance principles, including knowledge of financial crime risks
• Prior experience in Transaction Monitoring and KYC is required, but this does not need to be at an advanced level. A background in a junior or entry level compliance role with exposure to these areas is sufficient
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their compliance career, with hands on exposure to transaction monitoring and KYC, and a desire to grow within a purpose driven, fast paced online platform. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
