Senior Analyst

About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, execution-oriented Senior Analyst to join our small, high-performing team at KTB Marine, a marine operations and supply chain consultancy with a strong niche position in the North American maritime ecosystem.
This is a high-craft delivery role for someone who takes genuine pride in producing excellent output. You will own recurring client deliverables — including monthly data analysis and PowerPoint presentations for our clients — and support the execution of client-facing consulting engagements across data analysis, process documentation, and presentation development. You will not be learning the fundamentals here; you will be applying them, refining them, and setting a high standard for everything that leaves this organization.
The ideal candidate is structured, meticulous, and fast — someone who produces polished, client-ready work independently and consistently, without requiring heavy direction on how to get there. You thrive in a role where the expectation is clear and the execution is yours to own.
Because we are a small organization, your contributions will be visible and your voice will matter from day one. You will work closely with senior leadership, with direct exposure to the full range of our consulting and client delivery work.
Key Responsibilities
Client Deliverables, Data Analysis & Presentations
- Own the production of recurring monthly client presentations, including data gathering, analysis, visualization, and PowerPoint development, to a consistently high standard
- Gather, clean, and organize operational and commercial data from multiple sources to support client reporting and analysis
- Build and maintain structured Excel models to support scenario analysis, performance tracking, and reporting
- Translate data, metrics, and quantitative findings into compelling charts, graphs, and infographics that support the broader narrative; develop and maintain dashboard-ready visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools
- Ensure all quantitative content is accurate, well-labelled, and presented in a way that is both rigorous and accessible to non-technical audiences
- Lead the development of all PowerPoint presentations across the organization — client reports, pitch decks, thought leadership materials — ensuring every deliverable reflects a uniform, professional, and visually polished standard
Consulting Engagement Support
- Support the execution of client engagements under senior direction across a range of workstreams — including process improvement, change management, and operational assessment
- On process-focused engagements: facilitate and document process mapping exercises, develop current-state and future-state process flows, and prepare training materials, SOPs, and reference documents that translate findings into accessible formats for operational audiences
- Develop and maintain project documentation including process maps, status trackers, and stakeholder materials
- Conduct research on industry, operational, and market topics and synthesize findings into clear, concise formats suitable for client or executive audiences
- Support the development of proposals, pitch decks, and thought leadership content — including white papers and capability materials — that communicate KTB Marine's expertise to external audiences
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 2–4 years in an analytical, consulting support, or professional services role — ideally within a structured delivery environment
- Demonstrated experience producing client-facing presentations or executive-level reports
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, Excel modelling, and data visualization
- Exposure to process improvement, process documentation, or structured project delivery — even in a support capacity
- Background in maritime, supply chain, logistics, or operations is an asset; genuine curiosity about these industries is equally valued
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to produce polished, well-structured materials
Qualifications
Formal qualifications are not required but will carry meaningful weight in the selection process.
Strongly Preferred
- University degree in a quantitative or applied discipline (e.g. engineering, business, economics, operations management, supply chain, data science)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Meaningful Advantage
- Power BI (PL-300), Google Data Analytics, IBM Data Analyst, or equivalent data certification
- SQL proficiency
- Tableau, Looker, or similar BI/analytics platform experience
- Python or R for data analysis
- dbt, data pipeline tools, or cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Prosci Change Management certification or equivalent
- PMP, CAPM, Prince2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent
Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint — including data-heavy, client-facing presentations
- Strong proficiency in Excel for analysis, modelling, and reporting
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization tools
- SQL or data querying ability is a plus
- Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g. Visio, Lucidchart, Miro) is a plus
- Exceptional written English — precise, well-organized, and adaptable across formats and audiences
- Ability to conduct and synthesize research independently
- Strong organizational skills — able to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines without constant direction
Attributes
- Process-minded — thinks naturally in workflows and systems, and finds satisfaction in bringing structure to complexity
- A genuine affinity for data and numbers — as comfortable stress-testing a result as presenting it, and holds their own outputs to the same standard they would apply to anyone else's
- A problem-solver — works through ambiguity methodically, asks the right questions first, and isn't above a creative solution when the straightforward one isn't available
- High attention to detail across data accuracy, process logic, language, and visual presentation
- A commitment to craft — not satisfied with output that is merely adequate
- Self-directed and reliable — owns deliverables end to end with minimal supervision
- Collaborative and communicative — flags issues early and manages expectations proactively
- Curious about how industries, operations, and supply chains work, and motivated to develop that knowledge over time
