The role
KPMB is seeking a BIM Manager to join our Digital Practice team, reporting to the Director of Digital Practice. This role is central to advancing and standardizing BIM across the firm, with a strong emphasis on Revit project setup, BIM Execution Plans, training, and knowledge sharing. The BIM Manager bridges strategic digital leadership and hands-on project delivery, ensuring BIM is used consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with industry best practices.
This role collaborates closely with project teams, the Digital Practice group, IT, and leadership to ensure BIM is used consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with industry best practices and the firm’s design and delivery goals.
Select Key responsibilities
BIM Standards and Governance:
- Lead the development and maintain firm-wide BIM standards, Revit templates, project start-up files, and content libraries
- Author and enforce BIM Execution Plans tailored to project scope, complexity, delivery requirements, and joint-venture agreements
- Lead quality control of model organization, data structure, coordination practices, and documentation outputs
Revit Project Setup and Delivery:
- Set up and configure Revit projects across all phases
- Advise and mentor BIM Coordinators and BIM Leads with BIM support including model coordination, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Advise teams on model structure, collaboration strategies, work-sharing, and best practices
- Manage project-specific Revit families and model content
- Support clash detection and coordination to ensure model accuracy and constructability
Training and Capability Building:
- Design and deliver structured training on BIM standards, Revit workflows, and digital tools
- Lead onboarding for new staff on firm BIM protocols and Revit environments
- Conduct targeted sessions, lunch-and-learns, and project-based coaching
- Mentor BIM Leads, BIM Coordinators, and architectural teams; assess proficiency and identify skill gaps
Digital Tools and Workflow Optimization:
- Oversee integration of BIM tools including Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, Dynamo, Rhino, and visualization platforms
- Lead platform upgrades and rollouts in collaboration with IT
- Identify and implement workflow improvements that increase efficiency and output quality
- Stay current on BIM trends and translate relevant advances into firm-wide practice
Candidate profile and qualifications
- Bachelor and/or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience as a BIM Manager.
- 5–10+ years of experience working with BIM on architectural projects, with demonstrated responsibility for managing standards, workflows, or project-level coordination.
- Proven experience contributing to digital practice initiatives, standards development, or firm-wide process change.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and strong working knowledge of BIM-related platforms and tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, or visualization tools.
- Solid understanding of architectural documentation, building systems, and project delivery.
- Experience supporting multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience delivering BIM training and mentoring teams in a professional practice setting.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, or computational design workflows.
- Familiarity with visualization and rendering tools.
- Experience supporting digital practice initiatives or firm-wide process change.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary:
The compensation range for this role starts at an annualized base salary of $85,000.00 and is commensurate with experience.
Transportation and bike storage
A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Friday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
