The role

We are seeking a BIM Co‑op student passionate about architecture and design to join our Digital Practice team for a four‑month internship. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting BIM standards, project delivery workflows, and digital tools across a range of architectural projects. You will contribute directly to real‑world BIM implementation within a professional architectural practice while developing strong technical, analytical, and collaborative skills. As part of our highly collaborative environment, students play a key role within our Digital Practice team and are integrated into everyday project work.

Student terms are typically structured as four‑month, full‑time paid positions, with the possibility of extension based on firm needs.

Select key responsibilities

  • Support with the development of BIM standards, templates, and content development for Revit
  • Assist in developing and organizing of digital libraries (families, details, standards)
  • Support BIM coordination for project teams
  • Assist with the documentation of workflows, guides, and best practices
  • Participate in testing new tools, workflows, or software updates, including AI applications
  • Attend Digital Practice and project coordination meetings as appropriate

Candidate profile & qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BIM, Architectural Technology, or related postsecondary program
  • Proficiency in Revit (BIM) is required
  • Demonstrated understanding of BIM workflows, with the ability to reference coursework or projects involving BIM execution plans or coordination concepts
  • Basic understanding of architectural drawings and construction documentation, supported by academic work
  • Known for strong organization skills and attention to detail, evident in well-structured project work
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Dynamo, coding, and use of AI is an asset
  • Recognized as a proactive learner, regularly asking thoughtful questions and seeking clarity when needed
  • Shows a clear interest in digital practice and innovation in architecture, reflected in course choices or personal initiatives
  • A sharp thinker with the ability to quickly grasp concepts and identify connections among diverse information
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Known as a strong team player capable of collaborating effectively within a team (i.e., Take direction, incorporate feedback, sharing recommendations to work collaboratively within a team environment)
  • An ambitious individual with well-defined goals and a strategic plan for achieving success

Salary:

Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $50,000.00, commensurate with experience.

Transportation and bike storage:

A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking and shower facilities are also available.
