At, we support a national network of young leaders as they work to revolutionize mental health in their communities. While COVID-19 has surely impacted the way that we do things, our work is not slowing down, nor are our fundraising efforts. Our network of 3,000 (and counting!) young people across Canada is as busy as ever, and our staff of 48 humans and 5 dogs are working just as hard - albeit from the comfort and safety of their own homes for the time being! With youth mental health at the forefront of many conversations all across the country right now, and grant funding potential just as plentiful as ever, we’re looking for an enthusiastic new Grant Writer to join us on the journey and help us actualize the abundant opportunities in front of us.

If you are an exceptional writer, have experience researching and writing high-quality grants and proposals, and possess a positive, team-focused attitude - then we want to speak with you.

In this role, you will:

  • Produce high-quality grant communications under the supervision and guidance of the Grants & Foundations Manager
  • Assist with the research, preparation, writing, and editing of proposals, letters of intent, budgets, and reports
  • Research funding opportunities, gather information about potential prospects, and help to maintain a prospect database
  • Liaise with staff to collect program, evaluation, and financial information needed to fulfill reporting requirements for active grants
  • Assist with tracking all grant program details, including proposal, program targets, and reporting requirements
  • Manage relationships with funders and foundations, and be a key contributor to their reporting and recognition requirements
  • Ensure all grant and reporting deadlines are met
  • Take on other duties as required

What we’re looking for:

  • First and foremost, a really excellent writer and communicator
  • 1+ years experience in a Grant Writing role
  • Experience and expertise in writing and editing proposals that are both logical and engaging
  • Excellent proofreading skills and sophisticated attention to detail
  • The proven ability to effectively communicate complex information in a simple and persuasive manner
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • The proven ability to meet firm and often competing deadlines
  • Flexibility, interpersonal skills, and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Financial literacy and comfort working with financial data and budgets
  • The proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-functioning environment
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with all those around you

We would love it if you had:

  • Strong verbal and written skills in French
  • Experience and comfort preparing budgets and expense reports
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other similar CRM or database software
  • Proficiency in G Suite, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in iWave
  • Basic graphic design skills
