Content Manager

All across Canada, Jack.org is training and empowering young people to revolutionize mental health. This is what we do.

Behind our 3,000+ young leaders is an exceptional Content & Communications team. Through vibrant video production, gorgeous graphic design, and killer copy, our creative squad amplifies our network’s voices and shines the spotlight on their impressive efforts.

Our impact is growing, and our content needs are increasing just as fast. That’s why we’re looking for a Content Manager to make sure the content we put into the world matches the top-notch quality of the work our young leaders are doing for mental health in their communities.

This new role will report to the Vice President and work alongside our existing Content & Communications team to strike the right balance between collaboration and creative control. You’ll be in the thick of strategic decisions; creating engaging, dynamic content for a wide range of audiences; and using your talents to make major positive change.

If you’re a creative powerhouse with a keen eye for content, a visionary approach, and significant experience managing teams in an agency setting or equivalent -- we want to talk to you.

Specifically, this job will involve:

  • Leading the growing Content team, including managing direct reports, in the development of creative concepts and seeing them through to best-in-class execution
  • Marshaling the determination of the creative direction of Jack.org and all subbrands and managing the execution of said creative direction across the organization
  • Working with the Communications team to identify strategic content needs, and creating responsive plans of action to address content requirements
  • Overseeing the creation of high-quality brand assets, video production, and graphic design
  • Working closely with the Communications team to ensure digital content is converting people to action
  • Ensuring the efficacy of brand guidelines; review, refresh, and pivot when/where needed
  • Managing relationships with creative agencies and partners
  • Managing the Content budget

We’re looking for:

  • A project management expert with 3+ years of experience leading a high-functioning team of talented content creators across all mediums (video, static design, animation, etc.)
  • A visionary with 3+ years of experience working within a creative agency, or equivalent experience
  • A big thinker who can ensure the urgent deliverables of today feed the larger organizational goals of tomorrow
  • A daring but intentional creative thinker who can lead the evolution of the Jack.org brand across the organization
  • A passionate trailblazer with a keen eye for the smallest detail and a strong taste for branding and design
  • A consummate team player and energetic collaborator with a desire to see their team thrive
  • A confident conversationalist with excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format
  • The predisposition to welcome and encourage feedback and criticism with an eager and curious mind
  • Significant proven experience with successfully driving creative projects from start to finish

What’s in it for you:

  • A full-time, permanent position; $55-70,000 per annum, depending upon experience
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including $2,000 annual coverage for mental health services, accessible from the first day on the job
  • Working for an organization that supports professional development and that will invest time and money into your growth
  • A flexible, trust-based culture: we offer unlimited sick days, flex hours, and remote work opportunities
  • A fun, exciting environment filled with an amazing group of driven, talented people (check us out)
  • In addition to vacation allowances, we offer a winter and summer week-long office closure so that we can all recharge simultaneously
  • A chance to shape the growth of an aspirational, well-funded organization and make a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of young people across Canada

What our process looks like:

  • We typically do two rounds of interviews: one by video chat that lasts ~20-30 minutes, and one in-person at our office that lasts ~1-1.5 hours. We don’t ask any trick questions – we just want to get to know you and give you a chance to see if we’re the right fit for you as well!
  • Final candidates will be asked to complete a small case study so you can show us your skills in action. We do our best to keep these reasonable and will only ask you to complete this step if you are one of our final candidates.

If this sounds like the role for you, apply here with your portfolio, resume, cover letter of no more than one page. We are hoping to fill this role ASAP, and applications will be reviewed as they are received. So don't delay!
