ABOUT THE JOB:
Foundry is a provincial model that provides integrated health and wellness services for young people. Foundry Kamloops is preparing to open its doors in 2026, and we are seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join the founding team.
This is a unique opportunity to support the setup and launch of a new centre, working closely with the Foundry Manager and interdisciplinary team to prepare clinical spaces, organize systems, and help create a welcoming, youth-friendly environment.
As the centre becomes operational, you will transition into a core role supporting daily clinic flow, coordinating appointments and referrals, and ensuring youth and caregivers receive accessible, responsive care.
What You’ll Do:
- Support clinic setup and opening (supplies, systems, space preparation)
- Prepare for appointments and support clinicians
- Coordinate referrals, scheduling, and follow-ups
- Welcome and support youth and caregivers (including those in distress)
- Maintain records, confidentiality, and organized clinical spaces
- Support daily operations and collaborate with the team

What You Bring:
- Medical Office Assistant certificate
- Minimum three (3) years recent related experience in a medical, clinical, or primary care setting
- Experience working with youth or vulnerable populations in a supportive, client-facing, or administrative role
- New clinic setup experience strongly preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

- Culturally aware and able to build rapport with diverse communities, including Indigenous, LGBTQ2S+, and newcomer youth
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries

- Willingness to complete required training (provided at no cost), including:
First Aid & CPR-C, Mandt (RCT), SafeTALK, Naloxone, Privacy & Information Sharing, and more - Union membership required (1.85% dues)
- Successful completion of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance
PROGRAM: Foundry Kamloops
LOCATION: Kamloops, BC
STATUS: Full-Time
HOURS of WORK: 37.5 hours per week
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday. Primarily during standard office hours of 8:30 am–4:30 pm, including 1–2 evening(s) per week, up to 7:00 pm, to accommodate low-barrier youth access to services.
REPORTS TO: Foundry Manager
COMPENSATION: $25.95 - $29.76 per hour (Grid 10 as per collective agreement)
