THE OPPORTUNITY

Innovobot Labs is seeking a Technical Sales Manager – MedTech to drive revenue growth across our MedTech business.

This is a hands-on sales role with a strong focus on converting an existing pipeline of qualified opportunities into closed business, while also developing new customer relationships and expanding the pipeline.

The Technical Sales Manager will own opportunities throughout the sales cycle—understanding customer needs, shaping the technical and commercial solution, coordinating internal technical resources, developing proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and ultimately closing the deal.

The successful candidate will combine strong sales instincts with technical credibility and be comfortable selling complex engineering services and product-development engagements to both technical and executive stakeholders within the MedTech industry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Sales & Pipeline Conversion

  • Take ownership of an existing MedTech sales pipeline and actively progress opportunities toward close.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from qualified opportunity through discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Develop clear account and closing strategies for active opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent customer engagement and proactively address technical, commercial, or organizational barriers that could delay a sale.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and work with internal stakeholders to finalize pricing, scope, and contractual terms.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity stages, forecasts, next steps, and expected close dates within the CRM.
  • Deliver against defined revenue, bookings, pipeline conversion, and sales targets.

Technical & Consultative Selling

  • Lead customer discovery to understand product requirements, technical challenges, development timelines, budgets, and commercial objectives.
  • Translate customer needs into opportunities for Innovobot Labs' engineering and product-development capabilities.
  • Position capabilities across areas such as mechanical and electrical engineering, embedded systems, firmware, software and AI, sensing, haptics, robotics, prototyping, and advanced manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Program Management to develop technical approaches, project scopes, timelines, and estimates.
  • Lead customer presentations and communicate technical solutions in a clear and commercially compelling manner.
  • Develop and present proposals, statements of work, commercial models, and other sales materials.
  • Ensure a strong transition from sales into project execution once an opportunity is closed.

Market & Account Development

  • Develop a strong understanding of the MedTech market, including emerging technologies, customer priorities, competitive dynamics, and potential growth segments.
  • Identify opportunities to grow strategic accounts and establish longer-term customer partnerships.
  • Understand the medical-device product-development lifecycle and the impact of regulatory and quality requirements on customer projects.
  • Provide market and customer insights to leadership and engineering teams to help inform commercial strategy and capability development.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management, preferably within MedTech, medical devices, healthcare technology, engineering services, or product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to close complex B2B technical sales opportunities and meet revenue targets.
  • Experience managing opportunities through longer, consultative sales cycles involving multiple technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to engage credibly with engineering and R&D teams.
  • Experience selling engineering services, product-development services, technical consulting, or complex technology solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the medical-device product-development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with medical-device regulatory and quality environments, including FDA requirements, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, design controls, and verification and validation, is an asset.
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and ability to move opportunities toward decisions.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-directed and comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings and industry events as required.
