THE OPPORTUNITY

The Business Development Director – MedTech will play a strategic role in expanding Innovobot’s MedTech footprint. Leveraging our deep expertise in Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Robotics, AI, IoT, and Advanced Materials, the Business Development Director will focus on driving sustainable growth by identifying high-impact opportunities, forming key partnerships, and aligning our innovation platform with the evolving needs of the healthcare and life sciences sectors.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute a business strategy to grow Innovobot’s MedTech portfolio, with a focus on digital health, medical devices, diagnostics, and assistive technologies powered by our expertise in HMI, Robotics, AI, IoT, and Advanced Materials.
  • Ecosystem Building: Establish and nurture an ecosystem of MedTech innovators, including technology partners, startups, research institutions, healthcare providers, and potential acquisition targets.
  • Consultative Selling & Solution Alignment: Engage with stakeholders across the healthcare and life sciences value chain to understand unmet clinical and operational needs. Position Innovobot’s solutions to deliver tangible health outcomes and operational efficiencies using a consultative, insight-driven approach.
  • Value Proposition Development: Articulate and tailor Innovobot’s value proposition to resonate with decision-makers in the MedTech space, promoting our open innovation model and co-development philosophy.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and manage strategic accounts, nurturing long-term relationships at multiple levels within client organizations including R&D, clinical, regulatory, and procurement teams.
  • Sales Execution: Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities. Prioritize high-impact sales activities that drive both short-term wins and long-term strategic positioning.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and build strategic partnerships with organizations that complement or extend Innovobot’s MedTech capabilities—whether through technology integration, co-development, or commercialization opportunities.
  • Market & Regulatory Intelligence: Stay informed on medical device and digital health regulatory landscapes (e.g., FDA, Health Canada, MDR), reimbursement trends, and competitive dynamics. Translate insights into strategic direction and product positioning.
  • Voice of Client & Competitive Analysis: Gather and synthesize client feedback and market intelligence to inform product development, partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on business development activities, including pipeline metrics, revenue forecasts, and partnership outcomes.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent Innovobot at key MedTech and healthcare innovation events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand awareness, support partners, and identify new leads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the technical and strategic marketing teams to segment clients, refine positioning, and ensure a seamless client experience from discovery to delivery.


WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic growth, or consultative sales within MedTech, digital health, medical devices, or healthcare technology.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and close complex B2B opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the MedTech ecosystem, including regulatory considerations (e.g., FDA, Health Canada, MDR).
  • Demonstrated experience engaging senior stakeholders across technical, clinical, regulatory, and executive teams.
  • Ability to articulate and position technically complex solutions in a value-driven, client-focused manner.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a strategic mindset.
