Job Description
INKspire is looking for a motivated individual to help recruit and manage our volunteers. The ideal candidate must have strong written/verbal communication skills and the ability to distinguish talent and engage volunteers.
Roles / Responsibilities
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organization
- Promote available volunteer positions (internally and externally) through recruitment sites (e.g. university job boards, volunteer sites) and other strategic campaigns
- Act as a liaison with all applicants and conduct relevant checks to ensure all parts of the applications are complete
- Screen and interview prospective candidates to ensure that they are appropriately matched and trained for the position
- Update, revise and create new orientation packages, volunteer forms, health and safety documents, email templates, etc. as needed
- Manage onboarding and offboarding procedures
- Keep track of the volunteer database by ensuring that it is constantly up-to-date
- Work with the HR team to develop strategies and initiatives to engage volunteers and reduce turnover
- Perform any additional HR, Engagement and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Highly effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to complete tasks effectively and efficiently
- Ability to maintain records and produce clear written and oral reports
- Passionate about youth leadership and empowerment
- Familiarity with HR practices and policies (asset)
- Experience managing or coordinating projects and volunteers (asset)
- Worked or volunteered in a non-profit setting (asset)
Time Commitment
- Flexible hours, approx. 4-6 hours/week
- Available in the evening at least once a week for team meetings
- Volunteer must be able to commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months
