Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) is a provincial association of hospices and palliative care providers, professionals, and volunteers throughout Ontario. We provide leadership on behalf of our members by informing policy and promoting awareness, education, knowledge transfer and best practices in the pursuit of quality hospice palliative care in Ontario.

The Centre for Excellence (the Centre) at HPCO has a goal of fostering excellence in hospice palliative care. The Centre includes programs and services for our members and broader palliative care community including: hospice standards program; hospice accreditation; best practice guides; a quality & impact measurement platform; interest groups; research and knowledge translation; and learning and training programs.

Reporting to the Director, Centre for Excellence and working closely with the HPCO Project Manager, the Project Administration Officer (Summer Student Position) will support the development and/or implementation of projects within the Centre for Excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plan and timelines
  • Identify and track key performance indicators
  • Maintain project timeframes, objectives, and communications
  • Schedule project meetings and create meeting summaries, including identifying action items
  • Create and manage documentation and reports for projects
  • Assist in developing educational materials
  • Conduct literature reviews to gather evidence-based research supporting best practices
  • Contribute to the creation and organization of webinars, workshops or online training programs

Position Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hospice palliative care is an asset
  • Background in health sciences, public health or a related field is an asset
  • Knowledge of project management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to adapt to evolving project needs
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Work Schedule:

  • Virtual/home-based office
  • Monday to Friday
  • Start and end dates are negotiable
