Highclere Capital is a growing mortgage finance company focused on delivering innovative lending solutions to underserved borrowers across Canada. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a detail-driven, organized, and service-focused Funding Officer to join our team and ensure timely and accurate mortgage closings.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, review, and finalize mortgage documentation for funding
  • Monitor the daily funding pipeline and prioritize files based on scheduled closings
  • Liaise with solicitors, brokers, and clients to track outstanding conditions or documents
  • Follow up for final reports, flag exceptions, and escalate issues as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of mortgage disbursements and coordinate with Treasury and Servicing
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support exception tracking and reporting
  • Respond to funding-related inquiries with professionalism and urgency
  • Support the Investigation, tracking and resolution of internal and external customer complaints
  • Monitor and respond to enquiries received from Treasury / Finance department
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for speed and accuracy

What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of experience in mortgage funding, legal administration, or financial operations
  • Strong understanding of solicitor instructions, disbursement processes, and closing documentation
  • Strong technical acumen and comfort navigating platforms, document systems, and digital workflows
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and internal systems
  • General understanding of accounting or Treasury operations
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism and responsiveness when working with brokers, clients, and legal partners

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with both Prime and Alternative (Alt-A/B) lending
  • Familiarity with LOS or funding platforms (e.g., Filogix, Fundmore, internal tools)
  • Bilingual in French is an asset
