About the Role 

The Production Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that Haven Greens’ products are efficiently packed and prepared for shipment in compliance with quality and food safety standards. Working in a fully automated production environment, Production Associates are responsible for monitoring packaged product quality, packing trays into cases, stacking cases onto pallets, and moving completed pallets into cold storage. 

This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, refrigerated setting. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic who takes pride in contributing to a seamless production process. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Packaging & Palletizing: Ensure pre-packaged leafy greens meet quality standards, pack trays into cases, and stack cases onto pallets. 
  • Cold Storage Transfer: Safely move completed pallets into designated cold storage areas using appropriate material handling equipment. 
  • Quality Control: Visually inspect packaged products for quality and compliance with customer specifications. 
  • Equipment Monitoring: Assist in identifying potential issues with automated packing equipment and report them to the Production Lead. 
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all sanitation and food safety protocols. 
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow company policies and procedures related to workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow associates, production supervisors, and quality assurance teams to meet production goals and maintain efficiency. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve production flow and efficiency, and provide feedback to supervisors. 

Candidate Profile 

Must-Haves: 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to consistently follow food safety protocols and workplace hygiene standards. 
  • Basic communication skills in English (verbal and written). 
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. 

Nice-to-Haves: 

  • 2+ years experience in a highly automated production and packaging facility, particularly in leafy greens or other fresh produce. 
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations such as HACCP or GMP. 
  • Forklift certification. 
  • Familiarity with Ishida / Heat and Control weighing and filling systems, Multivac tray sealing packaging lines, and automated case erectors, automated case sealers, and pallet wrappers. 

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to stand, move, and walk for prolonged periods (75%+ of the workday). 
  • Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment (approximately 35°F or 2°C). 
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-noise environment. 
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stoop as necessary.

  • Job type: Full-time 
  • Schedule: 4 x 10 hour shift each week, starting at 7am; flexible schedule required, weekend coverage required.
