Position Description:

Join our team at Hariri Pontarini Architects as a Junior Interior Design team member and play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of innovative interior design projects across a diverse portfolio. You will collaborate with the Interior Design team to create thoughtful design solutions, prepare project documentation, and contribute to the successful execution of projects from concept through completion.

Positions Responsibilities:

  • Support the Interior Design team to develop and present creative interior design concepts that align with client requirements and project goals.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using industry-standard design software.
  • Assist with the selection and specification of materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures that enhance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
  • Assist with furniture, artwork, and accessories procurement, including sourcing and purchasing products, coordinating with vendors, monitoring order status, and overseeing delivery logistics to ensure timely installation.
  • Support coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure the integration of interior design elements across project teams.
  • Support project delivery by assisting with design documentation, project timelines, budgets, and deliverables under the direction of senior team members.
  • Participate in site visits, assist with vendor coordination, and help resolve design-related issues during construction and installation phases.      
  • Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and sustainable design practices to enhance project outcomes.
  • Support client presentations, document feedback, and assist the design team in refining design solutions.
  • Assist with proposal development, marketing materials, and presentations to support business development initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation in accordance with firm standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, under senior team guidance.

 

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a recognized institution
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in interior design or a related field, with a strong background in design development and project management
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, conceptual strength, and execution across project phases
  • Knowledge of Interior Design, Art and Architectural products and materials and ability to research the current trends
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing and Ontario Building Code (or other regional codes, as applicable)


Required Competencies:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Revit is a strong asset
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
