Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Must have worked on US agricultural accounts for several years and understand MAP funding, regulations and processes
  • Well-developed strategic planning skills and ability to pivot to new ideas and adjust plans as needed
  • Persuasive presentation skills for presenting plans, merchandizing results and
  • Strong budget management skills and must be highly detail oriented to ensure budget and projects are accurate and stay on track
  • Strong client service skills and desire to build and strengthen client relationships
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a team and ensure work moves forward – ability to manage and oversee many plan tactics at one time
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Canadian media landscape, current Influencer processes and tools, social media channels, digital media and impression and engagement KPIs
  • Excellent writer and strong understanding of CP Style
  • Strong desire to mentor junior team members, assist senior leaders in the organization as needed and participate in new business development
  • 6 to 10 yrs experience in an agency environment

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities – Account Management :

Work closely with senior leadership team and Client Service Managers (CSMs) at Harbinger to build strong relationships with clients including:

  • Develop strategic communication plans and budgets, presenting & selling in recommendations to existing and potential clients
  • Initiate a POV and then seek counsel from VP/SVPs at Harbinger regarding challenges and best approach on plan strategy when required
  • Work closely with assigned CSMs and other team members to ensure smooth transition of final approved plan into execution
  • Manage staff resources, budgets and timelines of approved plans
  • Oversee client’s bimonthly reports and ensure accuracy prior to delivery to client
  • Manage monthly invoice process and deliverables required to meet MAP guidelines for US agricultural businesses, review all invoices prior to distribution and ensure they are sent out in a timely manner that meets the client’s needs
  • Support team as needed throughout plan execution, including consulting and guiding CSMs on strategic recommendations, addressing client, IAT or program challenges
  • Guide CSMs, AEs and ACs on influencer selection, channel selection, contract development content guidelines, and measurement guidelines (ie: back-end analytics, engagement, etc)
  • Consult on the development of media/influencer strategy and pitch angles
  • Review media materials, key messages and Q&As to ensure they are written in a clear, concise and persuasive manner
  • Review traditional media and influencer lists and media/influencer materials/posts
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the digital community manager on the development of content calendars, brand posts, timing, and any issues that may arise
  • Assist in briefing and managing vendors, French agency or other partners
  • Participate in Brand and IAT meetings as required
  • Proactively look for ways to merchandize results on a regular basis
  • At program close, guide team on the development of results report and presentation to client.
  • Identify and share relevant current issues and competitive news with Brands
  • Recommend incremental opportunities to clients and bring forward ideas to Senior Leadership Team

Roles & Responsibilities – Team Management :

  • Provide ongoing mentorship of CSMs, AEs & ACs including: coaching on Harbinger best practices and processes for Agriculture businesses, influencer marketing, media relations, client service and administration
  • Provide ongoing support for Harbinger culture, processes, and professional development
