Marketing and Communications Coordinator 

Job Type: 1-Year Contract, Full-time

Hybrid - Home based and Office Based (Yonge and Dundas in Toronto)

Salary Range: 45,000-50,000 per year


The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will collaborate closely with Hackergal’s Marketing Manager to elevate the brand and increase awareness and participation in national programs. This role involves coordinating and executing the digital marketing strategy, with a particular focus on building and fostering engagement across Hackergal’s online platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Design, plan, and implement digital marketing campaigns and communications across all of Hackergal’s social media accounts. 
  • Take the lead on growing Hackergal’s social media presence by pitching and creating content, with an emphasis on TikTok, Instagram, and X. 
  • Plan and execute the delivery and content for email marketing campaigns such as newsletters and program promotion.
  • Develop cross-promotional online initiatives to deliver high-impact marketing and communication for Hackergal’s educational programs and partner relations.
  • Generate awareness and interest in Hackergal’s programs, special projects, and/or events through innovative marketing strategies. 
  • Support outreach efforts to engage key stakeholders in the ed-tech industry and ensure that marketing campaigns reach and resonate with all target audiences
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of campaigns through analytics, insights and reporting tools across all social media channels.
  • Support copywriting for the blog, website and other communication projects.
  • Organize and execute cross-promotional marketing projects by coordinating tasks between teams, ensuring deadlines are met, and helping to track the progress and effectiveness of each initiative.
  • Implement leadership directives, incorporating feedback to improve future project and campaign outcomes
  • Coordinate PR and media coverage, drafting key messages and managing logistics, including monitoring media outlets, compiling reports and analyzing the reach and impact.
  • Ensure all marketing content consistently aligns with brand guidelines, processes, and standards
  • Assist in creating and curating marketing content that reflects the organization’s equity, diversity, and inclusion values, ensuring all materials promote inclusive messaging and represent diverse perspectives.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


What You Bring:

  • Experience with graphic design and using Canva, as well as video design and creating reels.
  • Experience with communication tools (i.e., WordPress, MailChimp) and social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok)
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational and task-oriented skills.
  • Mission-driven and eager to engage with partners, donors, and community organizations to align goals.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with a results-oriented focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to self-edit and complete projects in alignment with guidelines and processes independently.
  • Receptive to direction and able to apply feedback while thinking critically about how to improve future work.
  • Strong understanding of Diversity and Inclusion

Desired but not required: 

  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Bilingual (French-English)
