Job Summary   

 Our Post-Harvest Technicians work under the direction of our fantastic team lead and participate in post-harvest activities such as wet trimming, tray drying, hang drying, and packaging of our product.  

Some duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Execute facility cleaning as per our sanitation program.  
  • Post-Harvest tasks such as sanitation of both rooms and equipment, wet trimming, tray drying, packaging tasks, and hanging of product for drying.  
  • Observe and ensure that all stages of cannabis operations are conducted in a safe and sanitary manner.  
  • Operate and monitor harvest equipment, such as trimmers and buckers.  
  • Responsible for reporting all completed tasks to the Post-Harvest Team Lead for entry into our record system as per our Post-Harvest Procedures.  
  • Responsible for promptly reporting any deviations from standard operating procedures to the Post-Harvest Team Lead.   
  • Follow safe work procedures and report hazards and unsafe work conditions to the Post-Harvest Team lead, or a Health and Safety Representative.  
  • Post-Harvest clean-up and breakdown including assembly and disassembly of some equipment. 
  • Perform cannabis waste collection and destruction as per company procedure and regulatory requirements.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Members of our Post-Harvest team are expected to:  

  • Follow and enforce regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act and Regulations as well as GlassHouse Botanics Standard Operating Procedures.  
  • Document activities and ensure all production and traceability records are completed as directed by the Team Lead.  

Candidates may have the opportunity to learn how to:  

  • Operate specialty cannabis trimming equipment. 
  • Learn how to identify and diagnose mold/mildews, signs and symptoms of insect pests, and plant deficiencies.  
  • Learn about growing conditions, trimming techniques, and cannabis quality control. 
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills that will be with you forever. 

Must Haves: 

  • Effective communication skills. 
  • Willingness to learn.  
  • Strong history of attendance and reliability. 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions in English. 
  • Ability to work in a team, and occasionally independently. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work on your feet for most of the day (standing and walking), or sitting for extended periods of time. 

Bonus Points If You Have: 

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with strong attention to detail. 
  • Experience in a relevant field, such as agriculture or manufacturing.  
  • Experience working under EU GMP requirements. 
  • Experience or a keen interest in plants and/or science. 

  

Job Specific Demands: 

  • Willing to wear the provided uniform, and personal protective equipment as needed (i.e., respirator, eye protection, hearing protection).  
  • Must have reliable transportation.  
  • Our plants require watering seven days a week— three-hour weekend watering shifts occur on a rotating basis. Typically scheduled for one weekend day shift per month.  
  • Plants like heat and humidity, so based on the position, you may need to be comfortable working in a greenhouse environment.  
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
