GCL Environmental Ltd. is hiring an Intermediate Field Technician to support site assessments and reclamation in Southern Alberta. This role will immerse you in cultivated, pasture, and forested landscapes across Alberta, providing unmatched field experience and exposure to native prairie vegetation — especially grass species.
What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct DSA's & vegetation site assessments with a focus on native prairie grass species.
Support reclamation projects and assist with data collection, mapping, and environmental reporting.
Operate under the guidance of experienced Site Supervisors and Technical Advisors, contributing to regulatory and client-driven outcomes.
Maintain compliance with Alberta OHS standards, GCL safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

What You Bring
- Proven experience with native prairie grass identification and vegetation assessments.
- Background in environmental sciences, forestry, biology, or a related discipline.
- Physically fit, capable of hiking and working in rugged terrain for extended periods.
- Competent in field documentation, sampling protocols, and use of basic mapping/GIS tools.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
