About Us
Egale Canada was founded in 1986 in response to the critical need for increased rights and protections for 2SLGBTQI people. Through legal advocacy in the courts, and by winning the hearts and minds of people across the country, Egale has long played a significant role in advancing the rights of 2SLGBTQI people and combatting discrimination.
Egale is Canada’s leading organization for 2SLGBTQI people and issues. We improve and save lives through research, education, awareness, and by advocating for human rights and equality in Canada and around the world.
Our work helps create societies and systems that reflect the universal truth that all persons are equal and none is other.
Our Culture
At our core, we cultivate a culture of accountability and care. We move beyond inclusion toward solidarity, meeting every person with agency, respect, and support.
We strive for meaningful impact and trust in all we do, acting with integrity, intersectional equity, and a deep sense of humanity.
Our culture is affirming and grounded in the belief that lived experience is expertise, and that the voices of those most impacted by injustice must be centered in shaping solutions. We recognize that systems of power and inequality, including those shaped by race, gender, sexuality, class, and other identities, affect how people experience the world.
We are committed to dismantling barriers and advancing lasting change for the communities we serve and for the team working alongside us.
As agents of systemic change, we lead with purpose and possibility, empowering one another to act with courage and build a more just and equitable future.
Our Commitment
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
